I Heard Back from the Therapist
She's not a preferred provider in our insurance network, so I'm going to have to talk to the insurance company to find out what benefits I have for out-of-network providers. We may or may not have met our deductible for the year with my surgery in January - it depends on whether or not we have a larger deductible for out-of-network services that we have to meet. She charges $150 per session and she does have a sliding scale, but she says it doesn't slide very much. I'm also considering looking at the California Psychological Association website or whatever the equivalent is to see if there's an in-network provider somewhere near the state border. Tahoe isn't likely, but possibly Truckee? I know we can't afford $600/month by a long shot.
