Some People I'd Like You to Meet

Man, I canNOT sleep tonight. So I've decided to post some pictures of those near and dear to my heart.

This is my family:

Angie, my husband's cat - he's had her a little longer than he's known me, and she's a big scaredy-cat and hides under the couch almost all the time, so I was lucky to get even this picture, bad as it is. :)

Hamlet, my baby, who we got shortly after we married. He's a velcro kitty and is unhappy unless he's lying on top of me getting petted and kissed on the head.

Winter, who found us one year in January when we still lived on the farm. He'd been circling the house for days (we could tell because of the paw prints in the snow) but we hadn't seen him. I caught a glimpse one night and tried calling him. He ran over, and I opened the front door to put my stuff down since I had my hands full. He waltzed right in like he owned the place and hasn't left since. He's FIV-positive, but healthy as a horse and one of the calmest, most confident cats I've ever known. (Warning: if you come over, he'll sit on your lap and own you within 5 minutes.)

Galdr (it means magic song). We found him as an itty-bitty kitten in the Blockbuster parking lot in Fremont on a visit to my parents. He's a remarkably small Maine Coon who doesn't really like anyone except mfrazercani

Patriot, who was born on the Fourth of July. He's a ranch-bred Australian Shepherd who's smarter (and brattier) than most 6-year-olds. We're hoping to get him into herding once we have the money for training.

Our newest member, Drusilla. (Yes, we're BtVS fans.) She's the one mfrazercani "accidentally" agreed to take, and she's turned out to be a great dog. She's a Miniature Alaskan Eskimo (a renamed German Spitz, basically). We're hoping to get her into agility at some point. And we recently dyed her blue. It's fading, so next up is probably orange for Halloween. Or possibly lime green...

I still miss my goats. Hazel was one of the most amazing animals I've ever known, and I'm still sad we had to give her up. Hopefully one day we'll have property again, and then maybe I can get one of her kids.

four-footed family, things that keep you up at 3 am, dogs, photographic evidence
