The Union is having an all day Executive meeting today, they are rare. one of the items up for discussion is the future of my position, or my Site Chair's position within the Union due to Chedoke Hospital closing. I was booked off to be there until 17:30 last evening when my supervisor recalled me.
Now, my future will be decided by other people without my input.
I am not impressed. Depending on what their decision is, my 48 hour ruminating period may start tomorrow evening after I find out what was decided. If they are eliminating it, I suspect I will resign before Chedoke closes. I have been the Site Chair for 10 years and have worked the duties into my life as a responsibility. If it ends with Chedoke closing I am not entirely sure I can handle losing those duties and moving away from Chedoke in a healthy manner if I have do it at the same time. I am having a difficult time already reconciling leaving Chedoke after 27 years. Can't do it both at once.
