Whew.

The college admissions process is winding down. Wow, I never thought I would be able to say that. From last March's initial visits to the summer's more serious ones to the fall's optimism to the "WOW I LOVE YALE" phase to the really shitty deferral to the awful winter break application frenzy to the bitchy three month waiting period...the admissions part will be done in a month. Then it's Milton nostalgia and time to put on bumper stickers and all that ish. What's been the most fun is seeing friends totally elated--Hannah with her Stanford skirt thinking tonight :), Celeste's NYU ecstacy, Jelena's now-famous Penn shriek. That's been the fun stuff.

I finally got to feel some of that good stuff today. I got into Harvard and Yale and am really excited by the news. I had no expectations of anything and went into today just hoping to get into one of the four remaining, so this was totally unexpected. I don't know how exactly to go about making this decision, but I'm pretty sure at the moment that it's going to be Yale. As Amy put it, it's been "the dream" all along and now that it's materialized, how can I not run with it? I'm really excited to visit and finally end the arduous admissions process.

Some great news from friends, some bad news; but we're trucking through it :).

Love to '04,
Scotty

P.S. It totally figures that the mascot of the school I'll probably end up going to is a little, runty housedog. The Brown bear or Princeton tiger or even the Penn quaker could hurt the poor lil' bulldog...
