To say that the Doctor had one hell of a day was a bit of an understatement, first, he didn't know what really had brought him to this planet, the TARDIS had gone all awry again and decided to give him a little surprise trip. Second, he apparently offended the locals Queen with a wave of his fingers, and thirdly, he had to be taken in to be ( Read more... )

It had been a long few months since Jack left Earth, he actually lost track of how long it had been; he didn’t want to remember. Ever since he left, he’s been hopping from planet to planet, bar to bar, hardly ever a sober a night without some random lover. He wanted to forget who he was and where he came from. When someone asked him, he’d make up some far fetched story. No one out here needed to know the truth and he sure as hell wasn’t going to tell anyone the truth ( ... )

Grumbling low under his breath at the drunken teenagers, which were probably not even legal yet, though he couldn't be sure, not on this planet anyway. The Doctor visibly jumped when he heard his name almost being shouted, and he quirked a brow before he looked up, an obvious surprised expression washing over as he stared up at Jack.

"Jack?" he blinked. Shaking his head, he dusted off his hand on his trousers and reached up, taking the offered hand and pulled himself up. "Not exactly on Earth, now are we?" he smirked a little.

Looking down at himself, he dusted off the rest of his clothes, "Actually, the TARDIS brought me here, just this morning. Not sure why, had a real rough day," he pursed his lips, looking the other over. "Nevermind me, what are you doing here?" the Doctor found it a little odd, he would have thought that Jack would still be back on Earth.

"Wait-no, how are you here? I thought I disabled your little... space hopper,"

The moment the Doctor started to question him, was the moment Jack wished that he never ran into him. There were so many other planets he could have gone to, but no, it just had to be this one "Gotta get right to the questions.” Jack rolled his eyes. "No hey Jack, how are you or I’ve missed you." Jack just looked at the Doctor for a moment, as if he was trying to figure out what to say next. "So the TARDIS brought you here?" Yes, Jack was trying to avoid the Doctor's questions; he really wasn't ready to answer them, yet along face up to the truth.

"Why was it so rough, I mean, besides being knocked to the ground by a bunch of drunk kids," Jack couldn't help but let a small laugh escape.

Jack looked down at his watch then back up to the Doctor. "Let's just say," Jack grinned, "I've got my ways, Doctor."

The Doctor could feel the others obvious tension, and of course it made him think. He frowned, maybe it was worse than he thought, but he wouldn't pry, at least not yet anyway, Jack was right, "It's good to see you," he gave him a smile.

"Welll," he sighed, reaching up and scratching at his temple, "Being locked up in a cell for 12 hours straight doesn't exactly call for a good day," he shrugged a shoulder, "I've been in worse situations though, but being poked and prodded by guards definitely isn't fun," he wrinkled his nose, well, at least he didn't have to strip this time, though he did have to give up his coat - which had his sonic in it, or he wouldn't have had to stay locked up for that long.

He rose an eyebrow at Jack before he glanced down at his wrist strap - he'd let it slide this time.

"Good to see you too," Jack said with a huge grin printed across his face. It was ok if it was a little lie and hey, as long as the Doctor didn't ask about what happened, then Jack was more then happy to see him.

"Poked and prodded? Don't think you want to know what's on my mind, Doctor," Jack winked. "What sort of trouble did you get in this time? Should've known if I saw you, there was trouble," Jack joked, but it was true, almost every time he saw the Doctor there was some sort of trouble.

"Say, they didn't make you strip or anything did they?"

The Doctor had to roll his eyes, "Oh, I know what's on your mind, Jack," he smirked a little before shrugging.

"Eh, apparently I called their Queen here an imbecile by waving my fingers - really have to remember more of these things, or check the monitor better.." he made a bit of a face. Well, he did arrive here just when he had woken up, guess the TARDIS thought it would be a nice wake up call. "Oi, I don't bring trouble... all the time," he couldn't help but smile though, "I'd like to think of it as adventure," of course, he wouldn't exactly call sitting in a cell an adventure.

He quirked a brow at that last question, "... Wouldn't you like to know," he grinned, and that answer surprised even him. He really did need that drink.

Of course the Doctor knew what was on his mind, he knew Jack better then most ever would.

"Wow, let's just say that my run in with the Queen went a lot different then yours," Jack smirked. What could Jack say, the Queen was rather good looking so how could he refuse.

"Yea, and I don't flirt all the time," Jack laughed. "Could look at it that way, though not all adventure is supposed to bring trouble." Jack really did love traveling with the Doctor, so he really didn't mind the trouble one bit.

"In fact I would.." Jack looked the Doctor over. "Of course it might make me a bit jealous, them getting to see you naked when I never have."

The Doctor snickered at him, of course, only Jack would go and do something like that, although he did have to admit, he did fancy the Queen a bit - of course, anyone with eyes would. "Leave it to you, Jack," he shook his head a little, teasing.

He rolled his eyes just a bit, "It's not like I mean for those things to happen. Say I want to take someone to a fabulous beach somewhere on a paradise planet... we end up getting chased by sea monsters. That's not my fault," he shrugged, "And mind you, running through sand is very difficult, even for me," the Doctor laughed.

The Doctor simply winked and smiled at Jack before he moved passed him, now intent on that drink more than ever.

"Sure, you don't," Jack teased. "Just seems to always follow you around for some reason. And, here I thought nothing was difficult for you," Jack smiled.

"Hey now! Just where do you think you're going? You aren't leaving me." Jack followed behind the Doctor. That was Jack, always following behind the Doctor and he’d probably never stop.

Hands stuffed in his pockets, the Doctor laughed quietly as he walked into the bar, his gaze to the ground before he looked up to glance around - at least the place wasn't too crowded. "Have you tried running away from sea monsters on a beach, Captain? They're quite fast on sand for sea creatures, I'll give them that," he smirked.

He glanced back, grinning at the sight of Jack following him, "How much have you had?" it was an innocent enough question, at least to the Doctor - being as blunt as he is. He simply wanted to even things up, "Been here long, have you?"

"Actually, I haven't. Though I was chased by a mob of angry people on a beach, let me tell you, it wasn't pleasant. Wouldn't imagine them being fast on the sand," Jack shrugged.

So the Doctor wanted to go inside the bar, this was something new, unless of course he had a reason to be in here, other then drinking. Then he asked him how many he had. "Why? Want a challenge?" Jack smirked, he highly doubted that was what the Doctor wanted, but why not try. "Had a bit, but not enough to forget my name or yours for that matter." Yea, Jack really never could forget the Doctor's name. "Could always have some more."

Sitting at the bar, the Doctor turned in his seat and waited for Jack, "Yeah, I see that," he smirked and then shrugged, "If you'd want a challenge, why not? But I'll have you know, Jack Harkness... Time Lord physiology makes it difficult for me to become as easily intoxicated," he laughed. He was quite sure that Jack would be on the floor before he was even close to being drunk.

With that, he ordered two shots to get them started off. At least for now, he just wanted something to get his mind off of the whole jail ordeal he had just gone through, his whole day had been an absolute wreck - and normally, he wouldn't resort to alcoholic beverages, but he just felt like indulging... this once.

He was still very curious as to why Jack was suddenly here, on a planet that was incredibly far from Earth, but he figured that once the drinks started loosening him up, maybe he'd give and talk. Until then, the Doctor would be patient - he could tell that whatever it was, was obviously bothering Jack very much.

"And, I'll let you know Doctor," he teased, "hundreds of years of drinking, makes it easy to handle a lot."

"Cheers," Jack said as he held the first shot up to the Doctor then threw it back. "Hit the spot," Jack smiled.

Jack turned serious for a moment. "Are you ok, Doctor?" Jack loved the idea of drinking with the Doctor, just this wasn't exactly him and Jack wanted to make sure he was ok.

[ooc: Totally cool as I just did the same thing now. So sorry.]
