The video... it just doesn't leave much of an impression on me after the first viewing, not like their super old MVs that I could watch over and over again. And it's not something I'd show to my friends lol.
Yeah, looking at the lyrics, they could've done a really cool city-at-night MV... something like Spring Nicht, but obviously with different themes. I get why he's wandering around the desert (he's lost and looking for something), but when the first line in the song establishes "midnight in my city," the desert does *not* make sense.
When I saw the preview and pictures etc, I thought the desert was actually going to be another planet. I had concocted a whole storyline in my head. Ah well. Bill worked really hard on it so I respect that.
"Tokio Hotel's Something New is now active. Link in bio. Just to give you an idea of how incredible this artist is, in the heat of the day the outside temperature in the California winter desert was 40F (4.4c), I am wearing thermals and couldn't feel my toes. You pulled off a fragile and powerful performance in harsh conditions, you were full of smiles, encouraged me to push boundaries of art (which is so important to me) and shared your gummy bears, so in my book that's a star @billkaulitz thanks for a fun journey, we crushed it! 💪🏼🍾 #tokiohotel #somethingnew Also massive shout out to Michael Bastian (secret weapon). Thanks everyone for the love and support. Much 💕"
I like the song, though.

Agree on it not leaving much of an impression. It doesn't reach it's potential.
I have high hopes for the What If vid.
