Oh shit. I just realized that you all may not know about the bullshit that happened the morning before my birthday. I was driving to work, on the post road, a little before 7 am. I had gotten off the highway to bypass traffic, because I was going to be SERIOUSLY late. So, I'm in Southport, approaching a yellow light, and needing to make a left hand turn to get back on 95 to shave off 5 minutes from my commute, thus getting to work on time. I stop at the yellow light, with my signal on, because there is a lot of on - coming traffic, and hell if I'm going to be stuck in the middle of the intersection when that light goes red. I stop, grab my coffee to drink it, and hear tires SCREAMING on the road, like someone slamming on their brakes. I think it's someone on my right, trying to stop, so I look over, and when I do, BOOM! I get rear ended. HARD. By a lady in a shiny, dodge SUV. Coffee goes everywhere... all over the inside of the car, all over me, all over my FACE... I mean everywhere. So I did what I should have, called the cops, called work, called my mom to come get me, etc. I was sitting in my car, blocking traffic, waiting for the cops to show up, for about 15 minutes before that asshole lady that hit me comes over and goes, "You okay? We should move, cause we're in the middle of the road here." (No shit lady, it's fucking route 1 at 7 am on a thursday morning. You're obviously very observant.) I told her that we shouldn't move the cars so the cops can get a good look at the scene. She then says, "Well, this is my fault." (Like I don't already know that.)
So anyway, the cop comes, takes the necessary shit, and leaves. My mom comes, follows me to the auto body shop, and then takes me to the hospital. When she first showed up, I started crying like a newborn, I was hysterical. Then, I realize, holy shit, my neck is KILLING me, and my mom insisted on taking me to the hospital.
We go there, and they're like, "Well... you're going to feel WORSE tomorrow. Take it easy, buh bye now!"
I've been out of work since June 8, in pain since June 8.. oh and it definitely kind of ruined my plans for my casino trip for my birthday, which was the NEXT DAY.
Yeah, I filed claims with both insurance companies, and each time they asked for my date of birth, I told them and they'd go, "AWWWW. Happy birthday!" Like that's supposed to help that I'm wasting time doing this instead of working and enjoying the function of my FUCKING NECK.
Anyhoo, I'm suing for lost wages, and pain and suffering because I'm afraid of like... everything on the road now, it's really surpassed normal, paranoid driving.
So.... there. That's my rant. Now you're all caught up. Betcha you're sorry you even asked, right?
