I am afraid of the dark and of bugs. I can admit this. They are two completely illogical yet everpresent fears.
As a gardener, my fear of bugs is unfortunate. As a gardener with a fear of bugs, my move to Vancouver was unfortunate. And when I mention the heart attack I had Friday morning in response to the fucking biggest slug I've ever seen MUNCHING my zucchini plant (I could actually see it munch!) to BC natives, they just say, 'You should see the banana slugs we have.' NO THANK YOU.
I HATE BUGS WHY DID I MOVE HERE?
Okay, moving on: I bought slug bait today and good-bye slugs! Apparently they eat some and then they're all, 'man, I never want to munch on a sweet sweet plant ever again.' and then they go off and die of starvation. Ha! I am so cruel but omg the size of that slug I am traumatized forever.
ps- I knew my landlady was up so I went and freaked out at her and she went to the garden and picked that slug RIGHT UP (uuuughh) and threw it over the fence. My landlord laughed at me from their bedroom. Have I mentioned they rock?
EDIT:
