So I thought my fish tank was on it's way out, as I was too lazy to clean it up, purchase more fish or cleaner water or a brighter lamp for the plants. Fish slowly die, as they do, and the plants have started to decay because I'm using tap water vs bottled and because the wattage of the bulb I have is far too low for recommended. Today though, I have baby fish. Apparently the platies that I have are live breeders, thus I have baby fish that so far have remained hidden well enough that they haven't been eaten. I also got a snail about four months ago (about a centimeter long) and month or so later I had a smaller, baby snail (about 3 millimeters). Today I discovered that I actually have two that were small and one that is tiny (about a millimeter in size), which I doubt I will see at this size again as it has already moved from sight. The plants in my tank have been rotting from the base up, which I just recently learned was because of many factors including not enough light in the bulb. The plants have actually started to grow roots from the middle reaching downward, which shows that there's still hope to save them before they just rot away completely.
