Our hearts

Funny thing about our hearts. They never do learn. They go out to whom they go out. And they love and care and hope and desire. Even when there is no good reason for them to continue to do so.

And then, after they’ve come back home and maybe found a new someone to love and care for, they still have that repository of remembered love and it’s like an ember that finds new fuel and the feelings are rekindled. The feelings, hopes, love and lusts all swirling anew.

One thing I have noticed is that every time you go back there, the feelings aren’t quite as driving and strong. And that only takes 25 or 30 years to happen.
