Final Deadline Tomorrow!

Apr 20, 2014 08:40

Hi, everybody! The Final Deadline looms tomorrow, so let's talk about what everyone's been waiting for: the posting of the fic and the bonus content.

Artists and mixers:
1. All art and mixes must be finished and sent to mod by April 21st. If you think you need extension or simply can't make it, please let me know immediately and we'll think of something.

2. Please send each piece to me to tgwtgbigbangchallenge at gmail dot com. Remember to include the track list, download link or the links to YouTube/8Tracks/Grooveshark. You can also include passages that inspired you, and any mixer's/artist's notes you want to add. (You can include the track list and notes in the body of the e-mail or as an attached .doc/.docx file.) Finally, please include your username, so the author can credit you.

3. Remember to label which art/mix goes to which fic!

4. Because of certain events, not everybody may want to post their art/mixes publicly. If this is the case, please negotiate with the author how you want to proceed. (Please see the number 5 on author's section.)

Authors:
1. You're not required to send me anything on the 21st, but please make sure that your fic is ready to be posted.

2. You will receive the bonus content on the 22nd, and get to enjoy it before anyone else until the 25th. With the e-mail, you will also receive your assigned posting day. If you're out of town/trying to take over the world, please let me know as soon as you can and we'll re-schedule. As we have 15 fics this year, the posting has been divided to 8 days.

3. On the 25th, the posting will begin. The format of you fic should look like this; meaning that there's one masterpost that includes summary, trigger warnings, author's notes, links to all the chapters, and links to the bonus content. (Format of the mix should look like this.) Please use the ".fic post" tag for this, and not the ".masterlist" tag. For readers' convenience, please make sure that all the chapters are linked to each other as well.

4. Don't forget to include the artist's/mixer's notes and credit them!

5. Because of certain events that involve ridiculing fanfic, not everybody might want to post their fic or their art/mixes publicly. The artists, mixers and authors for the same fic might even disagree on how to post the content. The thing seems to have died down, but you may still want to take cautionary measures. Now, there are two ways to handle the privacy issue.

Option one: Posting to your own journal, with any combination. (Author posts everything and f-locks it or not, or author posts only the fic and f-locks it or not, and artist/mixer posts the art/mix and f-locks it or not.) The masterpost in this comm will be public. Because this probably prevents some community members from accessing the fic/bonus content, you'd have to be prepared to friend community members if they want to.

Option two: Posting to the Treehouse, with any combination. (Author posts everything and comm-locks it or not etc.) This might be preferable, because more people can easily access the fic/art/mix, but it can still be comm-locked for a certain audience. The masterpost in this community will be public.

I think in this case, it would be easier to just let people decide among themselves who will post what and how to post the content, so if you have any concerns, please bring them up with your author/mixer/artist.

That should be all, but if you have any questions or comments, type away!
