two unrelated parts

my cell phone is dead! ah! that's really shitty, seeing as how dependent we've all become on those little devices, myself included. now i guess i have to go to the verizon store, bitch out some arrogant bastard who took two years at a tech school, and wait to get another shitty chocolate shipped to my house. nice. so don't bother sending me text messages or making phone calls. this puts me at a considerable assassins disadvantage. gah.

in other news, i think i will try to hike a lot this summer. i rarely connect with nature on a down-to-earth level, but when i do, i really enjoy it. there's a huge difference between being knowledgable of the outdoors and thus being able to sell a good environmental argument (envirothon) and actually getting your ass out there and experiencing it (hiking/camping/etc). i mean, even places pretty close to home are worth going out to and walking around... ponemah bog (memories), horse hill nature preserve, sheiling forest (yeah!), etc. they're nice places that are good for a quick escape. but i'm thinking, if i ever start getting to the gym on a regular basis, i'm game for some 4000 footers this summer. i love reaching the top of a mountain and looking out over what you've just climbed and realizing that you're part of only a few people who've taken the time to do that. very rewarding... but also very nice to be isolated and to explore and find cool little areas that you never would've found unless you took that iniative. once we were up at the top of a mountain and my brother got his foot stuck in this crazy moss/spring sinkhole. haha. it makes you wonder if any other person, ever, got his foot stuck in that same spot and if they, too, had to get on all four and reach into the slop up to his shoulder to get his shoe out. good times. so yeah, anyone up for some serious hikes is welcome, i think i'll be in the mood this summer. plus trail mix is fucking delicious. mmm.
