the curse of competence
so, i was offered the job, at the interview.
upsides:
- THE COMMUTE! it took me 20 minutes door->door in afternoon traffic. i'd be able to sleep an hour later, and i'd be getting home an hour earlier. plus the school is about 5 minutes away from barbara's.
- larger school (means a more balanced staff) with small learning communities (same teachers have a subset of those kids).
- math coach seemed good, and seemed to get along well with the administrators.
- i'd only have one prep.
downsides:
- the commute is still a bit longer than i wanted, but not by much at all.
- i'd be teaching a scripted class, with the lowest level students.
- they have a copy service, which means i'd have to be a lot more organized and plan ahead.
