I met Belén in the kitchen while she was cooking dinner, among other things an egg in a small pot. And then I saw how she was pouring some salt into the water.

And I was like, "Wait... you put salt in? But... but... the egg's still in the shell, there's no salt getting in there?!"

And she was like, "The water boils faster if you put salt in."

"Huh... why?"

Ok, she couldn't explain it, but she said it was something she had come across during her studies.

And since procrastination is my favourite pastime, I did a quick google search and found this neat and comprehensible explanation.
