All:My:Faults (Not Just Another Entry in my Diary)

Last week I came across Jamendo, a platform for free (Creative Commons license) music, which allows the download of whole albums via Bittorrent or eMule.

So this is a place where artists without a label can try to get their music out to the masses, but just because they don't have a contract doesn't mean their music isn't good.

Well, I roamed the Gothic/Metal section a bit and found some good stuff.

The French band Antarhes, who describes its style as Power Rock (I'd say it's some kind of Metal), has some nice songs with both female and male vocals out there, some of their stuff reminds me a bit of Lacuna Coil (but LC is better).

Also from France: Nosphares, Melodic Death Metal with... uh... nice melodies, dulcet growls and screams and all that. Very lovely. Really.

But All:My:Faults (from Germany) top it all off.

First I thought "Crap, they sound like Blutengel," but luckily they don't, maybe they're a bit like Project Pitchfork, but hat could be wrong, too, it's been a decade since I listened to them, and maybe one can find a lot more similarities to other (German) bands; the individual songs are all quite different but somehow they all have that catchy melody which is always the same (if that makes any sense).

Anyway, All:My:Faults' albums are definitely worth the download bandwidth and anyone who likes Gothic/Electronic Metal/Darkwave should check them out.
