Just got back from our gymnastics meet!! yay, we did awesome. so on with this blog...
The reason O'brien wrote this story was to honor the men that served in vietnam. he wanted to show the common people of america what happens in war, not only the things shown in war movies.
Another possible reason is because when you are a writer, even when youre trying to write fiction, u describe what you know. because the war was such a big part of his life, he had to incorporate it into his stories.
I guess thats all, i hope i answered this right, i wasnt really sure how i was supposed to go about this.
