Isn't Weiner the Mad Men creator? Doesn't get out much does he. Those are three very odd sentences strung together. Hollywood is a strange place.

I think he looks like Poirot. Besides he's not really young....internet says 46, he should know better. It really annoys me when Producers and Directors and Actors don't know the basics. If you're making films and tv you should know about films and tv, and then there's this thing called "google." I don't think it's too anal of me to expect extensive knowledge of all television from a showrunner - it's their industry after all, and they should be watching endless amounts of it *end rant*

But then Mad Men...is...so...very....slow. He's clearly never heard of pacing.

Well you know, if McCallum were doing off Broadway in NY that would be one thing, but as it is... You might not know everything, but you'd think he'd have a clue about the highest rated drama on TV--whether he likes it or not. I am not very impressed.

maybe unless youre nominated for an emmy he doesn't notice - and how did Mad Men win the best drama emmy AGAIN, there must be other programmes on US tv that deserve it, and Jon Stewart's best comedy show for the 9th year in a row! That has to be fixed, cause by now judges would go "you know what i think i won't vote for the same show i voted for the last eight times"....besides best comedy should go to something new and cutting edge, not the show you gave the award to the previous 8 years.

oooo i have a lot of rant in me tonight.

Because it's the best written show on US TV at the moment.

but FOUR times in a row! there must be something else surely, just because you shouldnt get a drama award for writing the same damn thing for 4 years. Even if it was freaking Shakespeare you give the award to Marlowe after year 3 just for a sodding change. Besides I think Mad Men is nicely written and all but I've seen better and more adventurous.[and with higher audience figures]

You are in a mood.

Pack mentality in Hollywood. Same reason why when one lawyer show has high ratings you suddenly have five lawyer shows. It's safe to vote for Mad Med or Jon Stewart--even if the votes are supposed to be secret (?) a lot of those people aren't comfortable with their own taste--or going against the common wisdom. Maybe they don't have their own taste anymore after awhile.

This is why we have to put the means of (program) production back in the hands of the people--that's you :)

Yes, you're right he is the creator. On the commentary he introduces himself as the writer, though he didn't write this episode. And I misspelled his name so I'm not all good either. BUT! not sure why he would just call David dead; he must have him confused with someone, well, dead.

I find it hard to understand. They had to find the MFU footage for the episode, there must have been talk about David at the time. Someone in the control room must have known better when Weiner recorded this stuff. It leaves a bad impression.
