Still no work and other morbid stuff.

Well, all my hot job prospects have fallen through. This leaves me without hope. I don’t know what I’m going to do but perhaps I should try going in a totally different direction. I spent a little time researching the line of work I would prefer to be in, but the lowest job requires a bachelor’s degree. The jobs requiring a masters and/or PhD degree pay about what a low-end electronics job pays. Mental health is not a great paying field.

Yes, and jobs that don’t provide any service to the community (football players, television icons, etcetera) make a fortune. Something basic is very messed up here. Have you ever heard of a superstar leprosy doctor? Or the millionaire teacher?

We do what we can. Amy just sent me a volunteer opportunity that will clearly be a lot of necessary work that will benefit society, but this job doesn’t pay at all. It involves the Colorado Anti Violence Project; they need crisis counselors to man their hotline. I suppose I’ll have to go for it. I think tomorrow I’ll put together a resume’ of my eleven years of volunteer work and see if they’ll have me. I just hope it doesn’t interfere with the stuff I’m doing now.

Okay, I’ve finally gotten a resume’ of my volunteer work put together. I’ll have to be very careful NOT to allow any paying employer (in the electronic engineering field) to see it. Amy helped with it so I’m sure it’s perfect. This could spell a change in career path if I could just figure out how to pay my living expenses. Well, I’m going to go for it.
