CL works the other way, too!
Went against my usual MO, and actually SOLD some toys over Craigslist today. Was a box of about 9 extra Star Wars Lego sets that I'd had sitting in my garage for a couple of years now. Ones I had bought on clearance almost a decade ago. I had taken them when I last set up at the Big Flea and the Civitan's Flea Market... But that was like 3 years ago and I didn't have plans to head back to either...
So I looked them up on Ebay and priced them somewhere in the middle of the price range of the closed auctions (Now up a few bucks from when I priced them for the Flea), and posted them up on CL with a price about 10% less if someone took them all.
48 hours later I have cash in hand and one less box to store. I think I got about 80-85% of what I would have expected to get on Ebay (after fees) and probably saved myself about 5 hours of work between posting, tracking, answering questions, packing and shipping.
Not too shabby.
