Shirt Duplication: a boring entry.

I like pique polo shirts. I have dozens of them. The problem is that I periodically change my mind about what colors I like to wear. For a few years, I was into highly saturated colors. I was into oranges and reds that would stop traffic. More recently, I've decided that darker, muted colors would be . . . not exactly more flattering, but . . . uh . . . what's the antonym of "flattering"?

My shirt shopping should be sinfully simple. Sadly, the chain that carries the shirts I like the most isn't in Rochester. They are in Pittsburgh, and I occasionally get calls from my Mother offering to pick some up when she sees them on sale. I discovered that the sale price is often available online, too, but not right now! They have something called "interlock polo" for half the price of the piques, but without having one around to sample, I can't commit to that.

I went to two stores yesterday and ended up with five shirts. I tried them on today. Three of them fit perfectly, so into the wash they go. There was a short-sleeve shirt that I bought the last time I was looking for long-sleeve, pique polos, but hadn't washed or worn. It turns out to be an exact duplicate of one that I bought yesterday. I discovered this, of course, after taking the tags off of yesterday's shirt, I'm now resigned to having two burgundy short-sleeve pique polos. On the other hand, it's a good color that goes equally well with all of my shorts and jeans. The only thing that's disappointing about having two burgundies is that I could've had the second one cheaper if I'd bought it when I bought the first one.

I also have twin orange (Autumn Sunset) and twin green (Jungle Green) shirts. In that case, I bought them online because the pictures on the web site didn't look like the ones I had. Damn you, lack of online color reproduction! I don't mind the two greens as much as I mind the two oranges.
