Harmony College: Ding!

The OSU campus has chimes in the classrooms that ring a few times an hour. I haven't checked my own timepiece to confirm it, but someone suggested that it's 20 and 30 minutes after the hour. In some buildings, the bell sounds like a fire alarm, but doesn't last long enough. In others, it's a single chime of a ring gong. The usual joke, regardless of the presenter, is to pretend that a boxing match has started. This joke hasn't yet grown old, but the week is young.

The tag class that ddmerillat and I are taking is pretty spiffy. The room is packed with hundreds of motivated tag singers, all of whom seem to be excellent sight singers. The sound is huge and frequently of very, very high quality. During tonight's tag class, we were singing the "Ireland, My Ireland" tag, which is in G. We hit the final chord, and the bell sounded right after we cut off. Wouldn't you know it, the bell was a G, too! Tee hee!
