Wow, boredom doesn't even begin to describe how I've felt the past few days. Since Sunday I have done nothing. In a way that's good. I play literati with April, which is fun. She has kicked my butt twice so far, so it proves the first time was not beginner's luck.
Sunday I went to see The Life Aquatic with my brother, which was exactly what I needed at the time. A wonderful movie, as long as you have the patience to enjoy a story told on a larger canvas with a multitude of individuals. There's a character named Pele who sits around the boat all the time singing accoustic versions of David Bowie songs in Portugese. He wears adidas shoes and has capri pants and looks so happy and carefree all the time. I think it's beautiful.
Yesterday I bought Garden State at Best Buy. I went into the store and looked on the shelf where they had new releases. A blonde girl in a black peacoat was also gazing across the display with a peculiar look of dismay. I kind of nonchalantly said "all I want is Garden State." She replied in the affirmative, so I asked a guy that worked there. He led us to a lousy table that had random stuff (this is where they kept one of the best movies of the year?) and there were two copies left. Fate I guess.
The Dead Sea Scrolls are in Houston at the museum there. It would be such a shame to miss out on a chance to see them. They'll be gone in a month or so. I'm definitely looking forward to going back to East Lansing for school, though. Bette will pick me up so I don't have to take a cab. Then I get to hang out with her, Rachel, hopefully meet up with April for coffee (finally), meet my friends from school, eat the world's best dorm food ever (please note the slightest hint of sarcasm there) and get my bathroom cleaned on a weekly basis.
Bored!!!!!
