“There is no pleasing you, is there?”
“When I get uncomfortable, I get cranky - and I am freezing!”
Ratchet interrupted the grumbling. “You are not freezing. The ambient temperature here is only thirty-five degrees. Not cold enough to freeze.”
Shivering in his warm thermals, Donnelly glared. “I don’t care what the thermometer says - I say, I am freezing!”
“None of the other humans are complaining about hypothermia.” Ratchet indicated, puzzled.
Jorge Figg laughed. “That’s cause I’m waiting until after I fall through the ice to say anything.”
“It’s a glacier up ahead! Not a frozen lake!”
“Packed snow is the same thing as solid water.”

“Put me down so I won’t step on anyone then.”
Carly leaned forward. “Blaster - if you want to enjoy the show, stay put. If you’d rather be the center of attention, go ahead and announce your presence.”
Blaster the red boom box stopped twisting and turning. “That would ruin the show for everyone else, wouldn’t it?”

His dark-blue jittery companion was literally vibrating with surprised excitement. “There’s a rally happening just over yonder - everyone who attends gets a cube just for showing up!”
“Whoa, Breakdown” Bulkhead grabbed Breakdown’s arm in an effort to keep him from running the entire way there. “I never head anything about Autobots setting up a recruiting station in this area.”
“It’s not the Autobots - It’s the Decepticons.” Breakdown tugged at the restraining hold. “I want to hear them talk.”
“After we finish with our work here.” Bulkhead refused to budge.
Breakdown looked at his crèche’ brother. “When we’re done with this orn’s stuff, then you’ll come listen?”
“Yes. I promise.”
The two laborers went back to work. It took six joors, but they finished - and the rally only appeared to be growing, as more and more mechs showed up for the rumored free energon.
Bulkhead stopped just before the city limits. “I don’t like this, Breakdown.”
“What’s not to like?” Breakdown started to shove his way through the crowds, expecting his friend-from-forever-ago, to walk right behind him. “They’ve got the energon right there!”
“Yeah -right after the branding table.”
Breakdown tore his eyes off the stack of energon cubes, and looked to the side. “So? Only a fool would insist someone join up before fueling them.”
“And that’s what is happening right now - I’m going home.”
“You can’t leave yet!” Breakdown protested, grabbing Bulkhead’s shoulders and hauling him back. “You haven’t even heard the mech speak!”
“I am not joining someone who refuses to let the undecided choose against his philosophies - and by branding everyone who comes, he’s removing their choice to remain neutral.”
“We earned this fuel! We deserve to be fed. It is our hard work that keeps those thieves in the Senate fat and happy.”
Bulkhead shook off the hand, and turned around, heading back, leaving Breakdown in the lurch.
“Why won’t you at least listen to Megatron speak?” Breakdown shouted, hoping to draw his brother back.

Ah, that was the source of the annoying beeps - and it wasn’t one of his devices.
“Wheeljack?” He called the inventor, knowing Wheeljack was probably online working on another project,
“What’s up Jazz?”
“Did someone ask you to build an alarm clock for me?”
Wheeljack chuckled nervously. “You weren’t supposed to find it yet.”
“It woke me.”

“Med-bot?” Sari asked. “What’s wrong with going to the doctors for check-ups and stuff?”
Isaac waved his hands expressively. “I worry every time you scrape your knees - this med-bot will follow you around everywhere, and bandage up every little injury, cut and scratch you might get everything you go outside.”
Sari crossed her arms. “Great, something else to chase everyone away.” She muttered, then raised her voice. “But, dad! I want to be normal - and normal kids don’t have robot guardians.”
