Title: Shocking news
Characters: Jack, Megatron
Rating: K+
T-Series: Prime
Summary: After the last battle, Megatron realizes he has amends to make: starting with Earth’s inhabitants.
Prompt # 6 Ceasefire

“…”

“Congratulations,” Jack muttered sarcastically.  “Miko’s speechless - is there even an award for that?”

Raf shrugged, uncomfortable at being in the limelight.

“A truce!”  Miko found her voice.  “After nearly killing Raf you propose a ceasefire?”

“He nearly killed you too,” Jack crossed his arms.

“Doesn’t matter,” Miko waved that clarification away.  “You tried killing us, and now you proposes to stop all hostilities?”

“I don’t trust your word,” Ratchet said, “but Optimus did.  Does.”  The Autobot medic, the only Autobot on Earth rubbed his forehead, tiredly.

Megatron gave a slow nod.  “If our situations were reversed, I would be looking for an underlying cause.”  He did not kneel or bend his knee, or stoop down to bring himself closer to the humans level.  He simply turned and looked at the teenagers; looked down at the much shorter individuals.  “Will you hear me out?”

“No.”  Miko snarled.

Jack blinked.  “I’ll listen.”

Raf looked from Miko to Jack.  “Ratchet?” He asked, needing a more experienced opinion.

“I already heard him.”  Ratchet waved an arm.  “Maybe this time I’ll understand why you want to put an end to the war - the war you started!”

“My reasons don’t have to make sense to you.”

Title: First Impressions
Characters: Breakdown, Knockout
Rating: K
T-Series: TF-Prime
Summary: “Are you jealous?”  “What’s there to be jealous about?”
Prompt #3 Prejudice

“Starscream seems to be in a mood.”  Breakdown announced after the Decepticon second-in-command left him and Knockout to the task of fixing the comatose form of Megatron.

“Starscream is always in a mood.”  Knockout retorted, vacuuming out space-dust and grease spills.  “He and I never see optic-to-optic.”

“And I thought it was something I did,” Breakdown chuckled.  “Like hanging out with you.”

“Ha. Ha. Ha.”  Knockout pushed aside one of the pulsing tubes attached to Megatron’s chassis.  “Like I care what that egotistical Seeker things.”

“Well, he is higher-ranked,” Breakdown mused, “seems a bit biased against you, though.”

“Starscream hates all ground-pounders,” Knockout tilted Megatron’s cranial unit just so, reaching beneath the sharp chin to remove microscopic debris.

Breakdown found it odd that Knockout was more focused on the Decepticon warlord’s physical appearance, than on the slagged internals and half-melted parts.  Knockout was always meticulous about his paint-job, (and Breakdown’s finish), but to give another mech the full wash-and-wax detail cleaning repair was … “Are you jealous of Starscream?”

“No - I am not jealous of Starscream.  He’s got no life - Megatron breathing down his neck, lower-ranked troops working to discredit him, Autobots shooting at him every opportunity - what is there to value?”

Breakdown put down the buffing pad.  “His ability to fly.”

Title: Relative truth
Characters: None specified
Rating: Teens
T-Series: any/all
Summary: Civilians have the worst of it when war comes calling
Prompt #1 ‘Caught In The Conflict Zone’

“Join us or die.”

Decepticon propaganda suggested one thing - that mechs could choose to support the revolution and help freedom fighters work to overthrow the caste system that kept almost ninety-percent of the population in perpetual slavery, working so that others might benefit - but when one found oneself recruited by high-ranked officers - gladiators who hadn’t lost their desire for spilling energon - propaganda proved to be full of misinformation.

Deliberately so.  Most mechs caught up in the revolution had no love for the Autobots, even less love for imposing someone else’s will on others just as unfortunate as them, but a great desire for continuing to live.  Many joined up.

“Fight for Freedom!”

Autobot propaganda did not depend on good public relations with the politicians.  It just was - the Echelon levels, the alphas, the primes, the ultras, - they all had been raised knowing that the current government was right, that the Senate had everyone’s best interest at spark, that mecha were happiest in the jobs they’d been born to do.  Autobot propaganda was the system, and the system could do no wrong.

The Autobots did not depend on conscripted soldiers to fight their battles - all their warriors had volunteered, choosing to fight and support the War Prime leading them to victory.

Neutrals from every city hoped the Decepticons would pass them by.  Neutrals from every city hated the Autobot rally’s that drew the disenfranchised into the ranks of the shock-troopers.  Neutrals from all over the world, could ignore the rising tensions between the Decepticon rebels and the rouge Autobots, because neither officially existed.

Until the war landed in their front-yard.  Then, their only choice was to fight and kill, or flee and hope they weren’t shot in the back.
