Title: Novice
Characters: Jazz, Blaster
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers Generation 1
Summary: Some things can be picked up by observing, others by practicing.
Prompt: Jazz/Blaster - Offbeat

“Nice tunes, mech - you dance?”  Jazz tapped his feet to the rhythm pulsing from Blaster’s stereos.

“Nope.”  In his Boombox mode, Blaster chuckled.  “I have, what the humans call, two left feet.”  The music continued belting from the speakers, drowning all other conversation out.

“Shame.  Good rhythm.”  The black and white music addict bobbed his head in time with the beat.

The up/down motion looked simple enough - Blaster shifted into robot mode, the better to copy Jazz.

Seemingly unaware that his fellow music lover was imitating his moves, Jazz added repetitive three-step pattern as he walked around the commissary, exchanging pleasantries with everyone relaxing during their off shift.

Trying to match the other’s moves wasn’t entirely successful - so Blaster watched and listened.  When he retreated to his private quarters, he spent nearly twenty-breems listening to the same song, working on picking up what Jazz caught instinctively.  It took nearly that long for Blaster to finally realize that timing, rhythm, beat, all intertwined - and made some melodies catchy, others easier to dance to.

Title: Do-over
Characters:  Megatron, Chromia
Rating: K+
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (pre2007 movie)
Summary: Sometimes, practical advice needs to be spoken aloud, because some are too stubborn to figure out nonverbal hints.
Prompt: Megatron/Chromia - Ignored

The Decepticon Warlord did not stalk mechs hiding in shadows.  Proper Decepticon warriors did not cower in fright.  No prisoners successfully escaped once captured by their betters.

“Another foolhardy attempt at releasing your comrades.”  Megatron grabbed the silvery-blue arm of Chromia.  She struggled as he dragged her back to the dungeons.   “The only reason you’res still around is because I find your fighting spirit amusing.”

Megatron rarely visited the brig - there was no need for him to interrogate prisoners.  But, returning enemy warriors to their confinement cells?  That, he found himself doing more and more frequently the longer he let the Autobot femme live.

“Shockwave’s expressed a need for more test subjects.”  Megatron calmly informed Chromia after tossing her behind the energon bars.

The silent prisoner settled for glaring angrily at her captor.

“Abandon your comrades, leave them to their fate.”  Megatron told her.  “And you might be able to bring word back to Prime.”

Title: Friends
Characters: Arcee, Sideswipe
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (2009)
Summary: Friends, the best help in time of need: “Jazz never meant for you to shoulder this burden alone.”
Prompt: Jazz/Arcee - Keep the Team Safe

Arcee kept an optic on the rambunctious duo designated Skids and Mudflap.

Sideswipe finished giving his report to Prime, joined her.  He waited in comfortable silence.

“He ordered me to keep them safe.”

“Who?  Prime?”  Sideswipe looked over the assembled Autobots, where Jolt was studying under Ratchet, working to repair Que, who had a bad case of accidentally self-inflicted injuries.  “Prime knows that’d be an impossible order.”

“Not Prime - Jazz.”

That information was bewildering to Sideswipe.  “ He promised to help when we caught up, didn’t he?”

Arcee nodded.

“Hey, you got us here -more or less intact - and we’re together.”  Sideswipe faced the two youngest.  “Let me help you take care of them.”

Title: Beginning of the end
Characters: Mikaela Banes
Rating: K+
Fandom: Transformers: Live Action Film (2007)
Summary:  “Don’t think this means I forgive you, Mister - just that I’ll be willing to listen while you make up excuses.”
Prompt: Sam Witwicky/Mikaela Banes - Bypassed

“I get the feeling I’m being ignored.”  Mikaela companied after flopping into the only unoccupied cushioned seat after a sixteen-hour shift in the shop.

Snores responded.

Mikale glanced over, disgusted by the drool emerging from her dad’s open mouth.  “This is what I’m talking about - nobody notices if I’m absent, or present.”

Wheelie paused the game.  “I’d notice, Warrior Goddess.”

“Oh, go back to your stupid game-system.”  Mikaela ordered.  “I’m talking ‘bout Sam - he said he loves me - and what does he do?”

The phone rang, waking her dad.  “Hello?”  He muttered into the wrong end of the receiver.  “It’s for you.”

Tentatively, Mikaela reached for the phone.  “Hello?  Sam!  Hi.”  Why would her boyfriend be calling on the landline?  He knew her cell number.

“Dinner, Dancing and a movie?  When?  Great!  See you in a bit.”  Mikaela jumped up.

Title: Get-togethers
Characters: William Fowler, June Darby
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers Prime
Summary: What can adults do while oblivious robots make contingency plans in the face of extinction?  Talk about future activities they’d like to do.
Prompt: June Darby/William Fowler - Growing Closer

“Never thought that I could speak frankly to another adult after I signed that Non-Discloser Agreement.”

“Oh, you mean something casual, like ‘Madam, your son is friends with a giant alien robot’?”

“That never crossed my mind.  ‘Honey, today was a blast: I got to travel to Australia, t hen visited the Arctic Circle in search of a defunct artifact, and here’s something from Europe’.”

“Australia and the Arctic?  My, what a world traveler you are.”

“Least I don’t have to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft ever again.”

“Skydiving sounds like fun - we should do that someday soon.”

Title: Unforeseen Troubles
Characters: Jack Darby, Sierra
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers Prime
Summary: Asking a girl out, and showing her around, shouldn’t’ be this hard.
Prompt: Jack Darby/Sierra - Worst Night Ever

“Can anything else go wrong tonight?”

Still in the borrowed car, Sierra poked her head out the rolled-down window.  “We don’t have to go to the dance tonight.”

“I promised to take you to the school dance, and I intend to follow through.”  Jack struggled to loosen the lug nuts holding the flat tire in place.

Drawing back inside, Sierra huffed.  She appreciated the fact her date wanted this night to be forever remembered, but this was getting ridiculous.

Grunting with exertion, Jack finally popped off the last stubborn lug nut - and promptly lost it as it shot off into the darkness.  “A flash flood would be the perfect ending,” He mentioned sarcastically.

“Don’t jinx it!”  Sierra warned.  In the dark cab, she bit her lip.  “It’s getting late - maybe we could catch a movie instead?”

Rented suit dusty and starting to stain from sweat, Jack stood up, looked at the still-lit theater just across the road.  “Are you willing to risk a bucket of popcorn and a drink?  I did accidentally spill dinner on your dress.”

“Jack, tonight’s already been a night I’ll never forget.”  Sierra smiled.  “The dance can wait.”

Title: Brothers-in-arms
Characters: Cliffjumper
Rating: K
Fandom: Transformers Prime
Summary: It can be hard talking about personal issues - much easier simply relaying what’s been happening lately, instead of trying to see where feelings may lead.
Prompt: Cliffjumper/Arcee - Lost Love

Stuck planeside with Optimus Prime, a scout-in-training, a former wrecker, a better-than-mediocre medic, and a strong, determined warrior named Arcee, Cliffjumper never noticed when his friendship with the femme began to grow into something more.

He refused to consider the possibility he could be anything more than a fellow soldier working alongside the talented warrior how had his back in Shockwave’s lab - she’d made it clear then that friendship beyond comradely, was not welcome.

Still, that didn’t stop Cliffjumper from talking while on assignment - he talked about what he’d seen, what he’d found (troublemakers), what he’d noticed.  If Arcee ever noticed Cliffjumper never talked about what he felt, she remained silent.

Title: Airing the past
Characters: Airachind, Breakdown, Knockout
Rating: K+
Fandom: Transformers Prime
Summary: Metal Attraction left a lot of people hanging - and no one ever explained why it was so vital for Airchnid and Breakdown to be given their own space.
Prompt: Breakdown/Airachnid - Past Flings

While Knockout scratched his helm, trying to figure out how to separate his partner from the loathsome - rouge - Decepticon without causing either conjoined Cybertron undue harm, Airachnid and Breakdown took the time to explain how they really felt, being stuck together and dependent on the other.

“I haven’t forgotten you.”

“Really? Cause after that nasty bump on the helm, you didn’t recall anything.”

“As if I could forget the mech who threw me into the pit filled with metal-eating crawlers!”

“It’s not like I flung you into a scraplet nest.”

“I ought to string you up and tear you apart with my bare limbs!”

“I’d like to see you try.”

“Please,” Knockout interrupted the love/hate fest.  “I’m trying to work here and your attempts to strangle each other are making my job harder.”

“Bygones be bygones?”  Breakdown extended the metaphoric olive branch.

“As long as no one tries murdering me.”  Airachnid reluctantly conceded.

“They’ll have to get through me first.”

“Under orders of Megatron, you’d step aside.”

“Obeying orders takes precedence over any past feelings between us.”

Title: Retribution
Characters: Airachnid, Bumblebee
Rating: K
Fandom: Prime
Summary: Airachnid does not take the destruction of ancient artifacts well.
Prompt: Bumblebee/Airachnid - Finders Keepers

“The Immobilizer!”  Airachnid shrieked, enraged.   The eight-legged amethyst colored techno-organic slammed the yellow bot against a nearby stone outcrop.  “That was mine!”

Dazed, Bumblebee warbled, fell to his knees.

“I’m acting childish?”  Airachnid drew back, affronted.  “I am nothing like the humans - or their pathetic offspring.”

The youngest Autobot struggled to his feet.  He whistled and clicked.

“Destroy - in anger?  You’re the one who wrecked the Immobilizer - after I found It!”

Static laced laughter emerged from Bee’s broken vocalizer.

“Well, since I need to take something back to might Megatron, might as well grab a souvenir: YOU!”  She lunged forward.
