June Challenge
Greetings members! After taking a bit of time off from the madness that is the merry month of May, we return with another monthly challenge!
For the month of June, the challenge theme is: Different States of Viewing.
Now, I know that theme looks a bit cumbersome (though possibly inspiring despite that) so you get some sub-categories to play around with:
Dreams: the simplest to understand, but possibly most complex different state of viewing. Sometimes dreams are simple and straightforward, while other times they are confusing for days afterward. Show some of the inner workings of one mech's subconscious, as it relates to another.
Nightmares: simply put, bad dreams. Show us something terrible, tragic or horrible as dictated by one mech's subconscious.
Visions: perhaps the most widely thought of different state of viewing, a vision offers a glimpse into the past or the future and can give someone a chance to send "fate" spinning off into another direction.
Hallucinations: whether caused by chemicals, sickness or that odd plant Hound found last week, hallucinations offer a distorted, and often completely false, view of the world.
Beer Goggles: the silliest different state of viewing I can think of, beer goggles is the American nickname for finding someone increasingly attractive in poroprtion to drunkenness (along with a few other concepts). Beer goggles can make for some amazing nights and incredibly awkward mornings after.
So, pick a sub-category, pick your pairing and start creating! Once you read the short list of rules that is.
The Rules:a
1. No pairing claiming this month! Just pick who you want to pair up and go! (As long as it's not on the banned list, that is.)
2. Art can be any medium. Fics must meet a minimum word count of 500. All entries must include at least one differing state of vision.
3. Any and all ratings are good to go, but do remember that anything rated higher than PG13 MUST be members locked to the community and appropriate content advisories and/or warnings must be given. Also, please use the June 2012 challenge tag on your entry.
4. Posting begins on June 1, 2012--for your time zone. If you're in Australia, you don't need to wait for it to be June 1 here in the Central time zone. However, the challenge does end at 11:59 PM CST on June 30.
