Life, as Isaac Sumdac knew it, was reaching the end. Adding the once promising job to a long list of failures, Isaac put his focus on what he managed to achieve since coming to the United States. He graduated from Stanford at the top of his class with a vast array of job opportunities available to him.

He just had to take a fellow graduate up on a promise of opportunity in the cold city of Detroit. Only a few months passed before everything fell apart and his 'friend' left town, leaving Isaac with nothing but debt.

So life as he knew it - as he'd planned for - was over. All those grand plans and the bright future, gone. It would be back to India - back to the family that he desperately hoped would take him back in.

Life as he now expected, changed within a split second, with a bright flash and streak cutting across the night sky.

What he found changed everything.

Success followed him for many years after that single event. He turned his life around and surpassed even his wildest dreams. And when Sari became a part of his life, he felt as though things couldn't get any better. Then the miracle from the stars that now rested in his lab began to speak to him.

More than once, Professor Sumdac found himself babbling his eternal gratefulness to Megatron before promptly apologizing for said babbling. Yet he found it difficult to hold back, delighted to be able to take what he learned and hopefully, one day, be able to help Megatron as much as the Autobot helped him.

"Daydreaming again, Professor?" A deep voice cut through Isaac's reminiscent thoughts. He gave a slow blink, focusing on the looming Decepticon leader - not an Autobot as he claimed to be.

Isaac looked away, angry with himself for letting his thoughts stray.

"Nothing to say?" Megatron asked, not bothering to hide the mockery in his voice. "Such a change from our early days."

"Suffice it to say, those days were nothing but lies," retorted the human.

The answering chuckle sent a shiver down his spine, though not completely from fear.

"I do believe you're only half right in that assumption," said Megatron, leaning over a little to better view the human. "I was certainly lying the entire time, but you…" He deactivated the shield surrounding Isaac and reached out a clawed hand, running the back of his talons down Isaac's side. "I have little doubt that your desire to please me came from anything but an honest longing."

Isaac looked away from the red eyes, not wanting to give anything away. Another chuckle.

"Ironic, isn't it?" Continued the Decepticon. "For so long you used me as a means to reach your goals. Now our positions are reversed and it is you who shall be kept prisoner until your usefulness runs dry."

Isaac jerked up his head, releasing a small gasp. "But…but I did not know! If I'd known you were still alive, I wouldn't have done those things!"

Megatron scoffed and pulled away, reactivating the shield. "Such foolish thoughts. You shouldn't let such things hold you back, Professor Sumdac, it really isn't becoming of you."

The mech turned away from Isaac, leaving the human feeling surprised. Had that been a compliment? Isaac turned back to his computer screen, contemplating what just happened. This wasn't the first time a conversation of this type had occurred. Megatron would let slip little things like that into their talks. To be honest, the situation he found himself in grew increasingly more confusing with each verbal exchange.

With his peripheral vision, he watched Megatron check the monitors to see the status of his two minions. They appeared to still be off spying or otherwise causing some sort of trouble. Whatever it was, Megatron didn't seem displeased.

In fact…

Isaac turned his head to have a closer look at Megatron's face. He was smiling. Megatron smiling usually meant something terrible was about to happen. He felt his heart skip a beat and his palms grew sweaty.

"Always so keen to watch me, aren't you, Professor?"

The human started, realizing he'd been caught staring. He managed a stammered, "I…I just n-needed to rest my eyes for a moment."

Now facing him, Megatron narrowed his eyes. "Of course…"

Once again, the shield deactivated, but Megatron didn't move, just continued to watch. Isaac felt drawn to those dark glowing eyes, unable to look away. Heat pooled into his face; he'd been caught in more than just staring. Megatron knew his thoughts, Isaac was sure of this. Especially when the smile morphed into a mocking smirk.

"Those two witless mechs will be gone for a while still," he finally commented, glancing at the screens one more time before turning his full attention on the human. "I think it's time we discussed a few things."

Isaac's whole body tensed up with apprehension. He'd been dreading this.

Megatron approached the human, eyes narrow in quiet contemplation. "Is there something you wish to tell me, Issac? Something you wish to say as I'm very much awake and aware now."

Heat flared up in his cheeks and he prayed that his darker skin would hide the reaction. Before he'd known Megatron to be still alive and functioning, he more than once would talk to the head in his lab. Things were said that proved to be much more revealing than anything in their actual two-way conversations. Now his suspicions were confirmed; Megatron had been very much aware of the words Isaac had spoken.

Isaac looked away, only to have one of Megatron's claws gently, but firmly, turn his head forward again. His breath hitched as the claw moved from his face and trailed down his side. Yet his mind was still racing over the events of the past several days. Chaos ruled during and even after the battles as the Decepticons sought to hide themselves. He realized that this was the first opportunity that either of them had to face each other since of the revelation of who Megatron really was.

A strange thought rose to the forefront of his mind even as the claw began to journey up his other side. The eagerness now betrayed by his captor was something more than one playing with a pet, Isaac felt sure of this. The smirk traveled across Isaac's lips this time, causing the clawed hand to stop and pull back slightly.

No words were exchanged. Isaac doubted either one of them would know what exactly to say. But the fact that a bond existed between them was inarguable. At the very least there was a mutual respect, it not something more. Isaac's life was based on working out problems - typically that of building structures and other constructive things. Yet, even as Megatron posed as an Autobot, there was a great enigma to him and Isaac couldn't resist the urge to dive into that mystery.

Something about Megatron called to him. Isaac longed to answer and wasn't surprised when his body took a step forward. He reached out a hand and placed it on the stilled claw, caressing it.

"One day, Megatron, I will figure out the mystery that you are," he stated simply.

A shiver ran visibly through the mech's frame. With a growl he leaned over to put his head at Isaac's level. "Know this, human, know what it was that you did to me all these years. Every time you interfered with my systems, I felt pain…and pleasure. Do you know how infuriating it is when I had no limbs to deal with this?" With each passing moment, his voice lowered and grew thicker. He pulled his claws away from Isaac's touch and trailed it down the front of the human, pausing at his groin.

"Your gifted hands tortured me, Professor," he all but whispered.

Heart pounding in his ears, Isaac couldn't respond right away. He was more focused on trying not to react to Megatron's touch and pushing his hips against the heated metal. A voice somewhere in the back of his mind cried out in protest, giving reasons as to why this was wrong.

He ignored the voice, saying instead, "Yet I heard no complaints about my treatment of you."
Red eyes narrowed at him and the claw began moving again. "It would be wise, dear Professor," Megatron began to say with a quiet voice, "If you would keep such foolish words to yourself. One could almost take that as a challenge…"

"And what if it was?" Isaac replied with just maybe a hint of smugness hidden in his voice.
The clawed hand pushed him down and held him there as Megatron's growling face came nearly flush with Isaac's body.

"It would do you some good to be mindful of your situation," he said with a cold voice. "Or should I show you what it felt like to be used for all those years?"

Isaac found himself unable to meet Megatron's optics. He couldn't be sure of just how long the Decepticon had been aware of his surroundings before revealing himself to Isaac back in the lab.

This didn't go unnoticed by Megatron and he asked, "Are you now regretting what you did? I assure you, it is far too late for apologies."

His answer slipped out before he could fully contemplate the question. "No."

Visibily taken aback, Megatron couldn't respond immediately, even as Isaac managed to make eye contact with him again. Then Megatron slowly pulled his hand away, returning to the prior caresses.

"My dear Professor, I do believe you are more the enigma here than I."

Isaac didn't miss the thickness in the low voice and he found a small pleasure in bringing the great leader to this level of arousal. All other thoughts were lost as the claw reached his groin once more and this time, continued its teasing, leaving him writhing and crying out in small gasps.

Who were they fooling. They were both enigmas; mysteries to each other and even to themselves.
