Seaspray is very, very much about hearing what mechs MEAN rather than what they SAY. Which is why Starscream is so confused when he talks to him.

Starscream: :looks snooty:
Seaspray: ^___^
Starscream: :rants about why couldn't Thundercracker pick a Decepticon or at the very least someone larger/higher ranked:
Seaspray: I'll take good care of him!
Starscream: He does not need you to take care of him!
Seaspray: I'd never try to get in the way of the trine bonds or his loyalty to you, don't worry!
Starscream: I am not WORRIED about you, little Autobot!
Seaspray: Of course, I know this is kind of awkward, but we both love him, so I'm sure it will work out.
Starscream: :sputtersnort: Soft-sparked Autobot....
Seaspray: Aw, I kind of like you, too! :D
Starscream: :to Thundercracker: Is talking to him ALWAYS like this?
Thundercracker: Like you're having two completely different conversations? Yeah. Most times.

I'm glad you like my Seaspray! I mostly wrote him because I was contrary and wanted to somehow manage to do Transformers merfic. ;P But it turned out well, and Seaspray's character just shone right on through. :P

TC is a bit sheepish because yeah, it makes sense now, but he's never seen an aquatic in actual water, so SEEING it on...display...is kind of new for him! And he's totally enjoying the show.... ;P
