Prompt: Gratitude

TFA Jazz

*The prompt showed up while Jazz was wandering about the medbay, helping with the myriad of little odd jobs that usually needed doing in one, keeping out of assorted medics' proverbial hair. He smiled as he stepped outside into the cooler air, eyeing the garden he and Sari had started. It was almost complete, the plants were in the ground (not that anyone could see much of them, that would have to wait for warmer weather) and the gravel was mostly in place. A little more work, and they'd be done.*

Gratitude, huh. Mm, I've got a lot to be thankful for. M'glad to be alive, for one. There were a couple of times I figured it was my last mission, or my last patrol or last run through interstellar space. *Chuckling as he glanced briefly at the building behind him, the Guardsmech added.* I'm grateful for medics and medbays, though I'll bet the feeling isn't mutual when I'm hauled in bleeding and missing a third of my essential circuitry.

*Leaning back against the side of the building, he murmured quietly.* For peace, back home and here. For being here, with folks I care for. For new friends and old ones. *A soft, warm expression lit his faceplates.* For this second chance.

*Folding his arms across his front, Jazz exhaled silently, letting his visor dim slightly in contentment.*

For warm energon when it's cold out. Unhurried mornings and quiet evenings with good company. The press of plating to plating, a hand holding mine and the sound of intakes, quiet and peaceful beside me.

*Visor brightening again, he smiled, looking up at the sky.*

All the small, unheralded pleasures. S'what I'm grateful for.

((Open post, though not a medbay one :3))
