IDW Perceptor
Things had been...tense around the 'Nerdlab'. After the events with Drift and his not so friendly former self, everyone had taken to just doing their own thing it seemed.
Especially Perceptor.
The sniper had locked himself away in his lab, a slight fear of his mate keeping him from going anywhere near the unconscious mech. Instead his drive to finish what his counterpart had started with the new crystal samples kept him going, Perceptor working tirelessly to complete what the other scientist had started. At some point relief had flooded his systems as he realized that this at least was going right, that this was going to work, and he pushed himself to work faster so as not to put Kup in any danger considering he wasn't sure there were any of the original cygars left on hand.
The morning of the fourth day found Perceptor sinking down onto a seat as the final tests concluded, tension seeping out of his frame as a half laugh escaped him.
And just as soon as the relief had taken over him completely it began to edge away as his thoughts focused elsewhere now, with nothing left to distract himself with. Out of sheer caution he had kept his end of the bond mostly closed, still able to feel his mate's presence but not allowing himself to reach out at all. Seeing his mate turn back into that..it was kind of terrifying in a way. So much so that he wasn't sure where to go from there now. It--
Perceptor startled as a message popped up, vents cycling softly as he realized it was merely a prompt. A slight edge of frustration seeped into his expression as he accessed it and this time a curt bit of laughter escaped him.
"Unplugged? How fitting..." he murmured, rubbing at his faceplate a bit before he moved to stand, reaching over to turn off a few of the machines he had been working with and removing the crystal samples from the testers. "It would seem that, as of late, I have not been able to help control any of the situations that have presented themselves. Though this--" He held up one of the samples, optics dimming some. "--is definitely a nice change of pace. It always is when something actually goes right for once." The sample was stored away carefully with the others, the sniper making plans to manufacture new cygars as soon as possible.
But first...first he needed to try and clear his processor of everything else that was going on.
"Perhaps if I cannot do it myself, help from another is necessary in order to regain a sense of control at least. A handle on things, if you will," Perceptor murmured, turning to leave his lab as he activated his scanners to seek out Percy only to stop just as he tapped the panel to open the doors.
Nothing.
Optics narrowed a bit as he frowned, scanners stretching out further to brush the surrounding area only to once more come up with nothing. A slight tinge of worry began to take over as he slipped out of the lab and hurried down the hallway towards the others quarters, hoping that maybe it was just a fluke.
...Here's hoping something else hadn't spiraled out of control right?
