G1 Chromia
The shooting range is devoid of it's archetypical sound effects, nothing but bluebird twitters and the gushing of wind through trees to be heard. The sky is less than promising; any sign of blue kept well concealed behind a thick curtain of dirty grey clouds. Still, for some reason she cannot fathom, Chromia finds herself out here. And

[The bulk of Blast Off’s alt-mode casts a shadow over the trees and his engines roar loudly before he transforms and the mass shifting sets in. He lands in front of the shooting range.
Staring at the boulder, he reads the rules quietly.]

'Pit, I must've been seriously out of it to not hear a guy that big coming.'

[Out of the corner of his optics he notices a slight movement and turns his head only to see an Autobot. Blast Off huffs quietly and focuses again on the rules.
He forgot his gun, but he isn’t here to shoot with it anyway. He needs distraction and he needs to shoot at something - with his cannons. There’s a feeling that all this disabling and enabling of his thrusters affected their adjustment.]

The rules are more like guidelines pal. So long as you don't blow a hole through the back like Swindle did, you're fine.

[Well, that is pathetic for Swindle. Always claiming to be a weapon specialist but incapable of changing his weapon to the right setting… It doesn’t surprise Blast Off, though.
He again turns to the Autobot, speaking with a blank voice.]
I need flying targets. You have that here?
[He really doesn’t want to shoot at birds. He doesn’t like the smell of burned organic substances.]

Yeah you just have to... Eh, hold on. I'll show you. *She hauls herself upright, moving away from the tree and over to one of the nearest shooting points' consoles.*
These activate the cannons on the far end. *She nods once out towards them.* They fire projectile boulders into the air. You can adjust the range, speed, trajectory, size, and consistency here. *She points to each of the dials in turn.*

[Silently, Blast Off looks at the console and listens to the explanation. It’s astonishing that an Autobot built something useful for a change, he thinks dryly. …but then, the Decepticons’ target practise mainly consists of shooting at each other. He suppresses an annoyed snort at the thought. No wonder they never win this war.
Paying attention to the console once more, he nods to her in acknowledgement, which is as much gratitude as he’s able to show.]

She's willing to guess that this guy ain't the most talkative of 'Cons, and isn't about to start up what would most likely be a one-sided conversation, so figures it best to leave him to his own devices for now.*

[Blast Off appreciates the silence and that he isn’t forced into a conversation.
Powering up his cannons, they begin humming, and he already knows that the one at his left leg needs maintenance. He adjusts the settings on the console so that two projectile boulders flies fast upright at a sharp angle.
He doesn’t look up; he uses his scanners like he always does. His HUD flooded by information, he wouldn’t see much, anyway. He fires with each cannon and the recoil presses his feet deeper into the organic ground. The cannons are louder than usual and it’s unnerving. One shot hits, the other misses.
Blast Off activates the console anew and repeats his action twice - the left cannon always misses. Great. So, he has another reason to dislike Cyclonus…
Kneeling down, he opens a panel next to the cannon and sighs tiredly. He forgot to bring tools with him, so apparently he needs to go back to medbay… Wonderful, because he really wants to go back…
Rubbing his forehead, he mutters exhaustedly:] Slag…

She raises an optic ridge, debating whether or not to butt in. Finally she puffs a sigh out the corner of her mouth, figuring she might as well.*
Cannon trouble?

[He almost forgot about the Autobot and tenses slightly as he hears her voice. He looks up.
That his cannons don’t work properly is pretty obvious in his opinion, and he doesn’t like it. Being more or less unarmed while an Autobot is around isn’t something he’d call lucky circumstances, still, he considers his possibilities. He seriously doesn’t want to go back to medbay; more so, he wants to keep away from this place as long as possible.]
Sort of… [He stands up.] Do you have tools I may use?
[Blast Off doesn’t feel well admitting a disadvantage, but it doesn’t look like she has inbuilt weaponry, so if she attacks, he should be able to move first…]
Reply
Sure.
*She then drops down from the fence, leaving her data-pad propped atop, and moves away from it. She extracts her own tool-kit from her sub-space and offers it to the mech. Upon closer inspection, her optics instinctively scrutinise the damage done to his cannons. Her faceplates form a disapproving grimace and she dryly quips.*
You know you're meant to fire those things and not whack bots with 'em.

[Nodding again, he takes the tool-kit, and searches for the one he needs first. He leans down; the wing of the inner lower legs flips off and reveals a new panel. He opens it cautiously, always keeping one scanner on the Autobot’s movements.]
It’s not due to close combat. [He answers idly.] It’s from an incapable commander. [Only the last word shows some emotions and makes clear that he isn’t fond of the person he means.
The visible ‘damage’ is only superficial, a few scratches or gaps between the panels on the cannons caused by the conditions in space. He stopped fixing them long ago, because another few cycles in space and they would look the same. It doesn’t mean Blast Off likes their look, though.]

Either way, they look like good cannons. Be a shame for them to go into disrepair. Need any help?
*She's asking more out of her own near instinctual urge to keep weaponry operational and well maintained zealously, rather than actual concern for the 'Con. That and she's still pretty damn bored.*

Not yet… [He mumbles while working on his lower leg. There isn’t anything she could help anyway, or he wants her to help.
Then, Blast Off remembers something she said earlier, and asks:] So, Swindle blew something up around here?
[He isn’t interested in this place, but when Blast Off was in the brig, between all of Swindle’s drama nonsense he claimed his skills improved. The Autobot telling him his team mate had blown up something makes him wary. He is used to hear lies or only half of the truth from the business mech. He just hopes Swindle didn’t get himself in trouble, and Blast Off will regret asking.]

Yeah. Nothin' much though. Just had his cannon set too high and blew a hole through the range's barricade down there. *She nods her helm once out towards the far end of the range.* He fixed it though. And was kind enough to lower his cannon's settings like I'd originally asked afterwards.
*Her helm cants back slightly and she curiously surveys the mech.*
You hear about this place from him then?
