*the hunter stands in the livingroom of his flat, looking into the doorless berthroom with a huge, satisfied grin; the berthroom is dark, no light lit, but he likes looking at it - there is a rewarding comfort in having such a thing... a nest, really*
...yeah, it is. Love - even if it's found in the Pit; is always worth it. Sometimes you need to fight for it, though.
*he frowns and subspaces the black, silky sheets - their honeymoon will be in the open, but he will build a proper nest for his mate; spoiling the Seeker is something he takes delight in - and, a bit of civilisation won't exactly hurt, either*
There are reasons to why both mechs and femmes feel the need of bonding a lover... but, what if you never felt it before? A love that is so strong, that you'll put yourself in danger for your mate - that you'll kill, even die for him? I would - every single day of my existance. My spark craves it of me, after all...

...and, we are only mated, not bonded. Love and trust doesn't need a merging of sparks. And, it is like cheating, anyway. Because, when you bond, you make sure of knowing your mate's wishes through and through. It must be wonderful, huh... but, what if you can't? What if you must fight every day just to understand? What if you can't know? Then you have to learn how to please your mate, how to communicate - how to work together as a team, and that with no spark guiding you. Well...
*his steps echoes around him as he enters the open area of Haven; the windows are closed and secured, the courtains closed - the bar is clean and looks beautiful in it's new paint job and the new decoration; next season will be grand, for sure - but, before leaving for their honeymoon, they need to make sure that Haven will stay safe; thus, every door and window is being locked, every light turned off*
Love is worth the sheer, tremendous work and all the harsh words sometimes uttered. You are a team, you need to learn how to share and cope with the reality of being together. Without knowing... Thus, when you find yourself holding your mate through the night - keeping him safe and sound, making sure he knows he is loved and cared for, respected and understood...

...then, you just know that it is worth it. Spark or no spark; all you need is to work, hard as hell, to get there. But, when you do... pure bliss. So, yes - it is worth it.
