*It's another date with the datapad for Rodimus Prime - he's sitting on a bench by the road, tapping away, idly rolling an Autobot-scale soccer ball around under his foot. Don't ask where he got it.*
I've decided that goofing off is a very important part of training. I know, I know, but hear me out.
You work hard to develop your skills, whatever they may be. You practice your moves so much you could do them in your recharge. Kup explained it to me, how the repetition wires it into your processor so that when you need it, you don't even have to think. It's just there. And I get that, I really do. Kup's training methods have probably saved my aft more times than I can count.
It was the same when I started - hmm, I guess you'd call it crash-course leadership training - under Ultra Magnus. Learn by doing, learn by repetition. Over and over. I'm told all that practice is paying off.
But - and this is part of the reason why I give the aforementioned greatly respected and honored pair of sensei a hard time - balance is the key. People need time to decompress processor and spark. If you let yourself lose sight of your goal because you're so focused on the means... well, you lose yourself in the process. I've seen mechs burn out that way, become bitter shells of themselves. That's not going to happen to me.
My goal is to build a strong, solid foundation for the Autobots, so that they can build their future. To safeguard peace and freedom. And to that end, I'm going to play with this soccer ball.
*And the Prime is good as his word: he sets the datapad down on the bench where any passers-by can read it, and proceeds to chase his soccer ball up and down the street.*
