universe… G1 / IDW or Bayverse is what I'm picturing. If a writer can make it work with another universe that would be fine too, though it's hard for me to picture it with TF:A

But to play with the Prowl - Outside hive mind: He doesn't connect because the last hive mind was destroyed to the last bot. (Praxis - thanks to a virus planted by Soundwave).
Blaster is the Autobot firewall - works to keep Soundwave out. Mentally, Blaster is succesful. Physically not so much. Red Alert knows this potential weakness, and keeps adding physical barriers to keep Soundwave's ever seeking viruse carriers/implanters (Laserbeak, Rumble, Ravage, Buzzsaw, Frenzy, etc), out of the all-important C.P.U. systems.
I'm thinking a combination of the two bunnies would work best.
would prowl be an outsider b/c he or the other autobots are afraid he's a carrier of the virus that took down the praxus hive mind? if he was he probably would have been killed by it too, but one could never be too careful. and what about bluestreak? or would this version of him not be from praxus?
I was thinking Prowl, while infected by the virus, didn't die. Either that, or it laid dormant in his systems, and can't take him out. (No, I think its possible that while not affected by this particular virus-code, RAtchet and the other medics were able to create a firewall/vaccine that eliminated threats from this source. So, no, he's not an outsider because the others are afraid he's got worms).
I hadn't thought about poor Bluestreak. I suppose, like most viruses and bacterias - even those that can claim near 100 lethality among their victims - there are a scant few mechs who don't die. For whatever reason, the foreign coding didn't kill them.
I need to give the bunny some time, let the implications and everything perculate through my abused brain cells, before I can begin writitng a proper fill. If you have any scenes you want to see, or suggestions that might work great in this A.U. verse, feel free to share. I like bouncing ideas off people - and sharing fan-related thoughts with others who enjoy Transformers more than I do.
Aww, I had 3 chapters written out with Praxus being their own little thing with Sparklings and younglings. Cybertron in general had youngling frames that up graded after the academy.
… as long as bluestreak isn't one of them it'll be fine. i'm resigned to the whole sparkling concept, as i've said. i don't avoid reading stories b/c of sparklings; i'd be passing up some really good writing if i did. and sometimes it adds something essential to the story. it's the bluestreak-the-sparkling-is-pulled-from-the-rubble-and-placed-in-prowl's-care plot line i'm specifically requesting avoiding.
maybe a bluestreak-the-traumatized-and-rebellious-teenager-is-pulled-from-the-rubble-and-needs-a-really-good-shrink plot line would work as a compromise? 'cause i don't think i've ever seen that one.
I like.
