Yes, you joined! *cackles evilly* Nah, seriously, I'm glad you joined.
Advice? Hmm... LJ cuts. You'll wanna know how to make one of those - the lj cut is when part of a post is hidden behind a link (sorta thing) within paranthesis (and I could look up the correct spelling for that, but I'm lazy, so...) When you're posting, highlight the part you want behind the cut, then click the button on the bar that has lines to repesent writing with a squiggly type thing at the bottom. (I'm so good at explaining things, aren't I?) When the box comes up, type whatever you wanna say in it, and that'll be what the cut says.
Now for the fake cut - there's a few different ways that I know of to do this, but I've personally always found the rich text version the easiest, so that's the only one I can actually do, and hence the only one I can explain. A fake cut will lead you to an entirely new page.
Example: I want to create a link to, say, youtube, but I don't want to put the dotcom and all that. Instead, I want to say: Link to my video. So, I write 'link to my video', then highlight it. Then I press the button on the bar with the picture of a globe with two connected links (it'll say 'insert/edit link' when you're mouse is over it.) Then put the youtube link in the space provided, click okay or whatever it says, and bah-boom, you have a fake cut.
Sorry if you already knew all that, but it nearly drove me crazy tring to figure out how to do those when I first joined, so I figure other newbies might not wanna go looking all over the place to figure it out.
