A post all about new sparks, sparklings, mechpreg, and the drama there of.

- Megatron plans to use Starscream (via his Allspark shard) as the broodmare to expand his new army. Alas, he didn't take into account the will of the shard, which has other plans. Instead of Starscream getting pregnant, Starscream gets everyone else pregnant. (One stallion with a herd of mares is better than one mare and a herd of stallions XD)
- A) Since Megatron naturally wanted to go first, he's now pregnant and realizing he miscalculated.
- A) i) He'd be much more upset if Starscream wasn't spending so much time on his knees in front of him with his head pressed against Megatron's stomach and crooning. Unexpected benefits are unexpected.

- Starscream and Megatron have decided to have a sparkling. Unfortunately, they both want to carry it. Starscream wants to because Megatron would totally be unable to smack him around. Megatron wants it because he wants to be able to keep smacking Starscream around and doesn't believe that a mere sparkling could possibly inconvenience him.
- A) Megatron wins. Then he finds out how wrong his assumptions were.
- B) They finally agree that Soundwave should carry it. Poor Soundwave.
- Despite Megatron's (or Soundwave's or Optimus Prime's) best efforts, Starscream has failed to get pregnant. This wouldn't be so disappointing if the plan hadn't completely backfired and they find themselves pregnant instead.
- A) Upon discovering his new parenthood, Starscream becomes irrationally protective of them and the new spark. There's also these unfortunate new habits of stalking, hovering, and stomach/chest rubbing.
- B) Expand with #4 below. Also can combine with #3A.
- New spark detonation is pretty rare, but it's not like other spark miscarriages. The new spark explodes inside the spark chamber, potentially killing the carrier. If it doesn't kill them, it scars the spark chamber to the point that the carrier will never be able to carry another spark again. The detonation also rips holes in or tears chunks out of the carrier's spark. Change the spark and you change the mech, and with this kind of extreme random damage, usually not for the better. Mechs have gone insane from it, become psychotic, bipolar, sociopath-ic, terminally depressed, suicidal, etc.
Without ever knowing he was carrying, Starscream suffered a new spark detonation on the long trip back to Cybertron after the loss of Skyfire. If he hadn't had an immortal spark, he would have died in transit and hurtled back a corpse. Instead he survived and with the changing of his spark, so changed Starscream ... for the worse.
Skyfire was not the other parent of Starscream's new spark, though they were good friends and colleagues.
The other parent was:
- Wheeljack
- Jazz
- Ironhide
- Cliffjumper
- Brawn
- Grimlock
- Some other non-medic Autobot
What do you do when your life partner/lover, known for his good nature and easy going disposition, who you loved beyond all reason and planned to have sparklings with comes back to you self centered, sadistic, ambitious, and devious to the core? A mech who eventually dumps you to join an emerging tyrant so he can engage in unchecked carnage.
By the time the war reaches Earth, the former partner has probably convinced themselves they were naive to believe that Starscream was ever good. Or that somehow, the blame should fall on Skyfire, who must have done something terrible to Starscream. Or any other possible rationalization except the truth.
- A) When Skyfire is recovered, he is extremely puzzled by the change in Starscream. Unfortunately, he brings up the matter in public, much to the annoyance/hurt of the former partner.
- B) The former partner (Example: Jazz) and his current love (Example: Prowl) are trying for sparklings. Prowl suffers a detonation miscarriage, but due to the awesome powers of Ratchet, the spark is removed before it can detonate, saving Prowl. Jazz had never heard of detonation miscarriage before this ... but an ugly suspicion is now forming in his mind.
- B) i) Both their sparks are examined after the miscarriage and an instability in Jazz's spark, though harmless to Jazz, is found to be the cause. He can never dare have sparklings. Ouch. Decepticon Starscream may be his fault. Not on purpose, but the guilt, it burns. Double ouch.
- C) Starscream is shot down, captured, and then repaired by Ratchet. While he's got him unconscious and horizontal, Ratchet decides to do a thorough examination for information purposes. He finds the scars on both the spark chamber and the spark, leaving him with only one conclusion to draw. All his findings are reported at the next command meeting.
- C) i) Perceptor does love a challenge. If Starscream was once one of the good guys, why shouldn't the science team try to repair his spark? Think of the advance in medicine to develop a cure for detonation miscarriage! What better test subject could they have?! Wheeljack and Skyfire are pulled along for the ride.
- C) i) a) They find a cure and use it.
- D) Combine all of #4 and #3 for maximum soap opera carnage. Especially if in #3 it's Optimus Prime who is now pregnant.
