One Bunny (which may or may not be long-winded)
The sad thing is, this one has been hopping around for a bit yet I've had neither time nor further inspiration to write it D:
Starscream was kicked out of the science academy, that much is true. He also went straight to the war academy after that. However, one of the instructors noticed during a training exercise that went wrong and resulted in one of the cadets being injured that the seeker seemed to know just what to do to tend to the wounds on a field-patching level while another cadet had been sent to fetch the medic. The instructor shared his observations with the board and had Starscream moved out of the central combat training into a military medic training course.
Not that he didn't learn how to kick aft; he just also learned how to fully repair fellow soldiers who have had their afts handed to them.
So, pretty much everything the Autobots know about Starscream... they don't. Rumor alone (and some files doctored by Soundwave in a preemptive countermeasure against Autobot spies) states that the seeker is the air commander and Megatron's second. The truth of the matter is that while Starscream is an officer, he's not high command; he's the Decepticon equivalent of Ratchet i.e. Decepticon CMO, and the Constructicons basically answer to him on medical issues. (For the record, the real SIC of the Decepticons is Shockwave, hence why he was left in charge on Cybertron. Soundwave is third, but Starscream can overrule even Megatron on medical issues.)
Yeah... have fun with this one, y'all.
ETA way after the fact: Bunny is nibbling even more in light of my venture into becoming an EMT (with any luck, I'll start my training in the summer), so I decided to take a look around on potential alts for MedicScream. Oddly, the Cessna Citation seems valid. And look, he can (almost) keep his color scheme!
