Soundwave is a very patient mech. As the single creator of six unruly Sparklings he has to be. But after millions of years even his patience finally wears thin - and so he decides take matters into his own servos and does the unthinkable: He defects! And he's taking several mechs of both factions with him, regardless if they want to or not.
The reason?
In his function as the Decepticon CO it was Soundwave's duty to know the dirty, little secrets of every single mech in both armies. And so he found out that the birth/Sparking dates of several mechs were forged. That means that beside the "known" Younglings like Bluestreak and Bumblebee several other Younglings hide as supposed adults in both armies, struggling to stay alive and hidden while the war wages on and on and the psychological stress grows with every day and battle.
Soundwave understands their decision, after all he's trying to keep his own Sparklings alive in these difficult times as well, and so he keeps quiet about what he found out and never told anybody.
But he kept an optic on those mechs and noticed how much harder got for them to deal with the stress, the pain and the trauma of it all and how nobody in their factions seems to notice how much they really struggle with the horror of the war.
After the Bots and Cons awoke on Earth, Soundwave finally saw his chance to help the hidden Younglings. With Energy more or less available, the battles between both factions less dangerous than ever before and a whole new planet without any unpleasant memories attached, he thought it would be a good time to drop some hints about the hidden Younglings on both sides of the war.
But nothing happened.
Both factions were too stupid or too wrapped up into themselves and their own problems to notice even the broadest hints and the hidden Younglings continued to be treated as adult warriors.
Until Soundwave's patience snapped and he decided to do something about the situation before something horrible happened.
And now he's no longer the single daddy of six, but more than ten war-scarred Younglings who mistrust him and adults in general, while at the same time both factions are out for his hide and still clueless.
Now, what to do?
1. Shockwave has heard of what has happened and, other than his fellow Cons, he has managed to come to the right conclusions. But instead of telling his Commander what he knows, he only states that he approves of Soundwave's actions and reasoning and that he would be more than happy to welcome him and his captives on Cybertron should they manage to make it through the Spacebrigde. Than he defects too. After all it's far more logical to keep the last generation of Cybertronians alive and well than to continue to kill each other. (Especially when it's unclear if they will ever have access to Vector Sigma again and if the super-computer is only able to spark Autobots/Civilian class mechs by now.)
2. Youngling-Sparks only age/mature if they have a fully functional Creator-Creation-bond or a Youngling-Caretaker-bond with an adult Cybertronian. But such a bond will only establish itself if the Youngling trusts their Caretaker completely. Will Soundwave manage to get the Younglings to accept him as their new father-figure or will he have to kidnap those adult mechs that already have the trust of some of the Younglings as well?
3. What about the new gestalt teams? Will Soundwave take them in as well?
TFA/G1/G2:
Start 1: AniStarscream's clones somehow end up in G2. Chased by Autobots and Decepticons alike they somehow find the floating Starscream.
Start 2: Animated is more or less the future of G1/G2 without any human involvement in the G'verses. G1 Starscream, after losing his body yet again, drifts aimlessly through space and time. Somehow he ends up near Earth and, sensing Cybertronian energy signatures nearby, he decides to investigate. He finds several strangely tiny and delicate Autobots, a lot of rubble and the corpse of a flying mech. Not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, he takes the body for himself and comes to life yet again.
Then he follows a signal up to the moon.
Story: While Starscream is less than delighted with finding out about his less than perfect clones, the clones are secretly grateful for his presence. He may not be their original, but he has experience, is intelligent and knows what he wants and they can't help but hope for his guidance and protection. They need him, even if he behaves horrible towards them and treats them like less than dirt.
So they do their best to keep him with them and to convince him that they can replace his former subordinates. And while the clones are fairly sure that they mess up at every turn and that Starscream will leave any moment now, Screamer can't help but admit to himself, that the clones have grown on him.
Will the clones ever find out that Screamer has decided to stay?
Will he ever admit that he likes them?
And what happens if the Autobots show up, or Megatron breaks out, or Lockdown comes to "visit" or a free Con shows up to recruit the Seeker clones to help him free Megatron?
One day I will stop to overthink bunnies. One day... but not today ^^"
