I did the math... and apparently I have 400 bunnies. WIth this post I'll have shared over 1/4 of them. Yay!
1. [2007] "Losing's really not an option for these guys." Lennox's team meets the elite of the Autobot army: the Wreckers.
2. [2007] I've seen a lot of Bumblebee-is-Optimus'-sparkling fics. But let's see one where Bumblebee is Jazz and Prowl's sparkling. Based off of how protective Jazz seemed of Bumblebee.
3. [2007] The Decepticons were largely made up from the military mechs of Cybertron. Megatron recognized the necessity of scientists, though, and the Decepticons began breeding/training scientists.
a. Enter Perceptor.
4. [G1] Sunstreaker/Starscream AU. Sunstreaker becomes a Decepticon, and, in retaliation, Starscream becomes an Autobot.
5. [G1] Bluestreak is Prowl's sparkling and the product of rape. His other creator is...
6. It's common knowledge that younger mechs (and femmes in general) have slightly stronger senses than older mechs due to the (a) better technology that was used to develop them and (b) less general wear-and-tear experienced on their systems. At the outbreak of the war, this has a devastating effect on the population of Cybertron. Younglings/femmes were forced to work for a faction, and this quickly wipes out most of the younger generations. Younglings are now a commodity that could change the tide of the war...
(Women and young adults have the best hearing in the human race.)
7. Perceptor has ESP.
a. Telepathy - ability of mind-to-mind communication, one-sided or two-sided
b. Clairvoyance - ability to know what's happening in another location real-time
c. Precognition - ability to perceive events before they happen
d. Psychokinesis (telekinesis) - ability to move objects through sheer mental will. "Look, creator! No servos!"
8. Red Alert overrides his sensory network's safety protocols early on in the war - the ones that make a Transformer only able to really focus on one particular thing at the cost of clarity of the surroundings. It stays on...
a. Out of his own choice.
b. His glitch refuses to allow him to turn it off.
c. Something else goes wrong, and it actually can't be turned off at all.
9. [2007] The Allspark was only used by the upper-class. Lower classes had to rely on femmes to populate their numbers. When the Allspark is destroyed...
a. Femmes are suddenly thrust into the upper ranks of society.
b. Femmes are treated as breeders with no rights.
c. The lower class leads a revolution.
d. How would this affect lower-class couples?
10. [G1] Doorwinged mechs (Datsuns!) and seekers are fallen guardian angels. The doorwinged mechs fell of their own choice because they fell in love with their charge. The Seekers were kicked out because of the intense wrath and unholiness they felt for their charges.
a. Starscream was Megatron's. He was so fragged off by the "incompetence" that his rage got him thrown out of the angel world and into ours. He's now fragged off because Megatron's the reason he isn't an angel anymore.
11. Nokiacon/John Keller/irresponsible
a. "Irresponsible" was the polite way of describing Sector Seven's method of disposing of the little monsters they created. Somewhere, there's an army of cell phones, MP3 players, pagers, etc.
b. "They're like cockroaches... except cute."
12. Every time a certain mech dies, he wakes up as himself in another continuity.
a. Optimus Prime. Come on, how many deaths has he had?
b. Prowl. He gets the short end of the stick fairly often.
c. Starscream. By the end of the series he's usually dead...
d. Unicron. For the lulz.
e. Someone else.
13. What if, in Ghosts of Yesterday, the Ghost 1 crew bothered to transmit some information regarding the Cybertronians to Earth?
14. Let's say that Megatron wasn't refrozen in Ghosts of Yesterday. However, his transformation cog is damaged, so he can't get off the planet. He can't repair himself either, because a) there isn't any material on Earth that can be used for it, b) he doesn't have the medical knowledge for it, and c) he doesn't have the correct tools for it. So what does he do?
15. The Ghost 1 decides to go back through the wormhole at the last minute. They return with the knowledge of the Transformers factions, and face the inevitable conclusion that someday, the Autobots or Decepticons are going to land. And so they prepare... by exposing Sector Seven to the world. Megatron is offlined permanently (or so they think?). And so the Autobots find, thirty-eight years after their first encounter with the humans, a planet that lives in constant fear of an invasion - and has the weaponry to deal some serious damage.
16. We saw in Megatron Origin how Soundwave gets his cassettes: by placing another mech's spark into the cassette model, willingly or unwillingly. So who were Blaster's cassettes, before they became cassettes?
17. In Spotlight Mirage, we found that Mirage has nightmares about being a Decepticon. When Mirage recharges, he wakes up in a world where he is in the opposite faction. Both worlds are real, but Mirage is on opposite sides in each. Mirage feels like he's going insane, constantly changing factions every time he wakes up. He decides to end it: in one world, he's going to change sides.
a. Hmm, I wonder if Cliffjumper does the same... might explain why he calls Mirage a traitor. Cliffjumper, however, is an Autobot in each.
b. Or, he wakes up and forgets which world he's in. (Say, he's in the Decepticon brig in both worlds and isn't sure how many times he blacked out.)
18. Mirage goes to the Shattered Glass 'verse when he recharges.
19. [2007] Megatron has spoken in a few continuities about keeping a squishy as a pet. Somehow this idea mutated into Megatron gets turned into a squishy's pet when he gets Allspark'd - a cat, a dog, anything - so long as it's reasonable.
a. Bonus if he ends up being Miles' dog. And ends up loving him. (As any pet loves their owner. Get your minds out of the gutter.)
b. Obviously, Sam will freak when he finds out.
c. Hm... what if they discovered it when Optimus started having odd memory recall during his recharge sessions? (Brother bond and all.) I can just picture this confused Prime... "Why did I recall from a canine's point of view?"
d. Megatron must meet Mojo. Or Bonecrusher (Mikaela's dog in ROTF, "Bones"). He's a bit confused with Bonecrusher, 'cause of the name and all.
20. "Thank You" by Simple Plan - from Miles' point of view.
21. [G1] Optimus Prime's personality was part of the addition to the upgrade of Orion Pax. But Orion's still there... fully aware of what's occurring - and hating every moment of it.
22. [TFA] There was some foreshadowing when only the combined efforts of Optimus and Starscream could get the Allspark to open up.
23. [G1] Soundwave's loyalty to Megatron comes because of the Cassetticons. In specific, the fact that Megatron sparked all of them.
24. [2007] Sam's dad wasn't joking when he drove him to the Porsche dealership. That day, Sam became the proud owner of a used silver Porsche. It was perfect - except he was starting to think the thing was haunted. AU where Jazz landed first.
25. [2007] Anyone else notice a mild resemblance between Alice and Miles?
26. Femmes are rare because when they go into heat, they become very vicious and kill off most of the competition.
27. Shattered Glass Jazz looks eerily similar to his original counterpart. Why? Because he is.
28. Perceptor/Xaantium. They both take care of the Wreckers as if the elite warriors are their sparklings.
29. [G1] "Money can't buy friends, but it can get you a better class of enemy." --Spike Milligan
Mirage was a Towers mech before the war. And joining the war/Autobots made him a few enemies amongst his elitist peers for associating with commoners. The war is over, and Mirage suddenly has to teach his comrades how to survive the tumultuous political waters that await them.
30. [2007] Annabell Lennox has finally reached the age to date. Unfortunately, her father has set up several strict
guidelines for the boyfriend to follow.
31. 118. "You take the blue Prime - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe." (The Matrix, missing word "pill")
Assuming Optimus is the "blue Prime" here, what happens if you take the red Prime - possibly Rodimus?
32. "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the Prime." (The Dark Knight, missing word "villain")
33. "I defy you! Come and kneel before Jazz!" (Superman II, missing word "Zod")
34. "This is the day you shall always remember as the day you almost caught Jazz." (Pirates of the Caribbean, missing words "Captain Jack Sparrow")
35.
Bot 1: Contrary to what he claims, I have a graph here that clearly shows a line going up.
Bot 2: You don't even know what that line represents!!
Bot 3: It represents upness.
Bot 1: The graph has spoken.
--Shortpacked
36. "Do not believe in miracles - rely on them."
37. "He who angers you, conquers you."
a. Oh, poor Starscream...
38. "In 1803 three attempts were made to hang a Mr. Joseph Samuels. On the first two of these the rope snapped, while on the third Mr. Samuels just hung there peacefully until he and everyone else got bored. Since he had proven unsusceptible to capital punishment, he was reprieved." --"The Book of Heroic Failures" by Stephen Pile
a. Starscream has an immortal spark.
b. Holy slag, this is why Megatron never slagged Starscream until the movie! He tried before several times, and just gave up on it!
39. "It is easier to resist at the beginning than the end."
40. "Wow, I'm being shot at by both sides. I must be right."
41. TF/Superman crossover. When Clark makes the Fortress of Solitude, he finds another less-than-human being in the ice.
a. [G1] Skyfire
b. [2007] Megatron
42. The Autobots are the Spartans in a 300 crossover. The Persian Empire can be Decepticon, Quintesson, whatever. Inspired by the fact that the Ark apparently has a holding capacity of 300.
43. [2007] Matrix crossover. The Cybertronians land on an Earth that has been destroyed by something - or someone. They hack into a poorly secured network and find themselves in the Matrix. The Allspark is out in the real world somewhere. When the machines hear of it (a powerful energy resource), they are eager to harness this new source of power.
44. Crossover with Midnighters. Perceptor was created at midnight. When he lands on Earth, he's in for a world of surprise...
a. Brawn was also created at midnight, but he wasn't at the correct coordinates for a long time.
b. I don't particularly care for the human Midnighters, but Perceptor meeting Rex seems like it would be an interesting oneshot.
45. [IDW Comics] Instead of Hunter O'Nion, pick another teenage boy to become a headmaster:
a. Alex Rider.
b. Harry Potter.
c. Arthur Penhaligon.
d. Anyone, really.
46. Crossover with the Young Wizards series.
a. Starscream/Nita, please. Or Starscream/Dairine.
47. Misread Firefly as Fireflight. So, Fireflight goes to the Academy, and his brothers raise hell as they break him out and attempt to evade the government.
48. X-Men crossover with AU'd 2007. Prime dies. Megatron has the Cube. Ratchet creates a distraction that leads to his death, allowing Bumblebee and Ironhide to escape. They eventually team up with the X-Men.
49. [G1] I've seen fics with Red Alert as a third triplet to Sideswipe and Sunstreaker. That's... not exactly the case. We're forgetting a Lamborghini here: Breakdown! He's:
a. a triplet with Sunstreaker and Sideswipe.
b. Red Alert's brother. Hey, listening to Red Alert enough and believing him could cause Breakdown's, uh, breakdowns.
50. [2007] So we've had a few bunnies about Jetfire being the "king" of the Seekers. But Jetfire's dead. Of course, the mech he gave his parts to is still hanging around...
Megatron's not too happy about his little brother suddenly being the object of worship of the majority of his army.
