Couple of bunbuns

For serious, though, they need to leave me the hell alone when I'm in the midst of writing other stories ¬_¬ (Although, two did come about because of something in one of my in-progress stories, so maybe it's not terrible...)

Okay, so three is more than a couple. So what? )

starscream, alternate, autobots, aerialbots, seekers

01. Seekers have three rules that they all follow: Loyalty first to family. Then to the trine. All trines are family. When Megatron goes a step too far in knocking Starscream back into his place after another takeover attempt, the two seeker trines decide it's past time to really live by their rules. And technically, the Aerialbots could count as a type of trine....

I am seeing the formation of third faction: the Seeker faction. Either that or the 'Con Seekers desert and go to the Autobots, but some of them I can't really see doing that without some good writing involved.

When you really think about it, if they live under the three rules then a faction of just seekers could wind up being pretty damned scary. Especially if they're all... very unhappy with Megatron and not inclined to find Autobot ideals much better than Decepticon ones.

As much as I enjoy seeing Autobot seekers, I have to agree with you. Some of them just don't seem like they'd just up and desert without something major going down.

And given how the Aerialbots admired the Seekers to start with, it would be easy to see them deserting the Autobots if it means joining a flyer-only faction.

Actually, that also bring up another thing, what if it isn't just the Seeker trines who desert? What if some of the other flyers go with them? Like Astrotrain, on the Autobot side Skyfire and Powerglide... though it depends there because 'Glide might have grudges that would make him less inclined to do so.

There are also more Seekers back on Cybertron that might consider joining if a campaign was made back home to recruit them, especially if it means truly living up to Seeker culture instead of suppressing it to fit into the Decepticons.

I just thought of another plotbunny that would make this more interesting - Datsuns are Seekers who never got flying altforms. They have doorwings because not all of the Seeker construction could be removed and the doorwings are vestigial wings that hark back to their originally intended alts.

Can you imagine, if the Seekers decided to live up to their true culture, how they would react if that was found out? How they would jump up to defend the lost trine that they suddenly see Prowl, Smokescreen and Bluestreak as?

Holy cow, this bunny is multiplying fast O.o

But yeah, I can see literally all the seekers jumping to defend the Datsun trine. Hell, I can almost see the seeker trines trying to draw them away from the Autobots, especially if they're under the impression (false or valid) that the Autobots have something to do with the fact that those three never received or lost their flying altforms.

I don't think the Autobots on the Ark would be responsible for the Datsuns not having flyer alts. I supose a case could be made for a longterm government pogrom against Seekers happening in Praxus and all underage Seekers are automatically upgraded to doorwinged adult bodies due to this grudge. Maybe, if this has been running long enough, even the Praxian population don't know that there is a significant Seeker population in their city because they always get ground alt upgrades forced on them by the city government.

Alternately the Datsuns could be a 'throwback' from one or three seekers mating with 'grounders' over the centuries. Some offpring were born seekers, some were born grounders, and every so often you get a few born grounders with some seeker features.
