Got this meme from
mininise28 so I would have a reason to post on here. She asked me 7 questions she'd like me to talk about. If you comment on this post, I will ask you 7 questions as well.
1. Who's your favorite TF and why?
Prowl. I think one's pretty obvious. I have a penchant for the serious characters. Plus I love a man in uniform. I also really believe there's more to him than the “I think so logically, that is why I am so logical” type cliché everyone writes him as. I just think there's more to him than meets the eye. *snerk* Yes, I said it.
2. When did you pick up on the sewing hobby?
When I was in about 6th grade my mom signed me up for a sewing class. She liked to randomly sign me up for things when I was a kid. “Hey, I signed you up for ballet/gymnastics/piano/a marathon.” I was just like “Whatev's mom. You're the one driving.” I was a pretty laid back kid.
Anyway, the class taught me the basics: how to use a sewing machine, read a pattern and all that. Most of the things I made were clothing with some other random stuff. I didn't sew again until I moved out the of house and got into going to anime conventions. My friends wanted to cosply and so did I. And GASP I knew how to sew! I could totally do this! Thanks mom!
Since then, I've made more costumes than I probably can remember. It became a passion for a while: usually making 2-3 costumes a year.
I don't cosplay as much these days. I usually will make one or two costumes for Banzai/Halloween, if that. But now that I'm not so fully invested in the convention, I have wanted to look into other crafts.
3. What inspired you to create your OC? And what do you like most about her?
Blitzangel was created because I had a fanfic idea and I needed a character to fill that place in the story. I'm usually about creating a character to fit the story, not creating a story to fit the character.
My favorite thing about her is how relatable she is in the fanfic. I've had people tell me they can just put themselves in her shoes and pretend to be her as she goes on her adventures through the story. That is exactly the type of character I have strived for her to be.
4. Did you study any other language in school? If so, what was it? :3
I took Spanish in Jr High. I have people in my life who speak it fluently which made me want to take it. I can understand more than I can speak and, alas, that has become less and less as the years have gone by.
5. Talk about your favorite subject.
My absolute favorite thing to talk about is writing fanfiction. I love helping people with their stories and giving them the tools to succeed. I have lectured on various fanfic-related subjects at conventions for around 8-10 years and wrote editorials for 5+ years before that. I can talk about fanficing for hours and hours and hours.
6. What was your first fandom?
I've been a geek of certain titles since I was old enough to remember characters names. But the first series I actually fangirled about-- doing fanfiction and fan art before I even knew what it was-- was Tiny Toon Adventures.
7. What do you think the world needs more of and less of?
I think the world could use more patience and understanding and less tempers. I include myself in that.
