Spoilers: Possible episode details!
Skywarpantulus of of the TFW2005 boards has posted some details about the series. Allegedly, these come from portions of the show that he was allowed to see, by some means.
Keep in mind, these are unconfirmed. But intriguing, if true!
Okay, so I saw bits and pieces of the first few episodes...not WHOLE episodes, but enough to make me say these are major spoilers (if you don't want to know some key plot points).
The series begins with a three part story called "Transformers and Roll Out". The footage shown at comiccon on the ship is from the beginning of the first episode. They're watching some old G1 footage on a screen, recapping the history of Cybertron. It doesn't feature any major characters though...just random Autobots.
The Autobots fight the Decepticons right away. We see Blackarachnia, Starscream and Megatron. Sounds like BW Blackarachnia.
At some point they lose Megatron or something and Starscream is on the ship saying he is now the leader of the Decepticons, then he notices he's all alone. Nobody's listening.
The Bots come to Earth, and it says like 100 years later and we meet the kids and some professor character. They're looking at this like, slug monster with tenticles, and that's what the Autobots end up fighting. A slug monster. Starscream also shows up and demands the all spark.
There's a scene where Optimus is injured and he turns black like in the movie...they open his chest and maybe see the Matrix...or a spark. Like I said, this was all quick views of the stuff.
On another episode there's a guy who looks like a fat Green Arrow or Robin Hood character. On another they fight a super villian. But the scientist character works with Megatron's damaged head. The head of Megs is like, hooked up to computers in his lab and gives him orders. They create the Dinobots.
Grimlock sounds and looks like G1, and even says "Me Grimlock". I don't think Slag and Swoop talk. Grimlock transforms only in the last second of his first episode.
But I was impressed, it was better than the Japanese shows of late. Lots of G1 nods, and there appeared to be no music on the show. Not a lot of comedy either, but I didn't see the human parts. The kids look weird, very cartoony. Bumblee and the girl appear to have a friendship. The first few episodes seem to be character based with no Decepticons.
I didn't catch enough of Grimlock in action...he breathes fire and at the end of his first episode he transforms for the first time and goes "I like this" or something. I guess he didn't know he could do that. Also, Megs tells him if he suceeds he'll create Grimlock an army of Dinobot warriors.
