"I feel like writing a human/bot threesome mixed with the state of cultural tolerance in southwestern America."

Well, someone must have said that out loud, because we got The NaturalistsThings have become a little quiet around here lately, and I wonder if we got tired of picking on the easy, wildly horrible fics. So I'm aiming for something a ( Read more... )

Pretty much sounds like this girl was trying to sound smart, when really...her theories are severely lacking.

American Culture wouldn't ingrain anything about Latinos, but stereotypes would. Stereotypes can't be mixed with a part of a culture. In all honestly, American is such a diverse mix of many cultures, it's extremely hard to pin down any particular part of it. We in America are truly a stir fry of peoples.

But not only that, you've got to look at this "American Culture" from the author's *cough* Alicia's perspective. If she has indeed been discriminated against for whatever reason, she might believe that it is American culture. Though that's just foolish and short-sighted. Think of "The world is out to get me!" syndrome. But you can't really fault her for thinking that way, since that's her opinion of the matter.

Haha, this...Cybertronian speaking. It's always a ridiculous thing authors toy with. Humans are not capable of the speak, because we do not have the necessary equipment. Just as some alien species might have two throats, multiple voice boxes and so on, we are limited to one, and are not capable of producing the noises, since there is a select many noises the human voice can utter. Can't remember offhand.

The rest of this, specifically about the sex scene, isn't even worth me going over. It's impossible, improbable, and downright stupid.

Try speaking dolphin. (Bearing in mind that most of their vocalizations are above our range of hearing, made with a completely different structure than our voicebox, and that they can speak with two different sound-producing mechanisms or "voices" at once.) Cybertronian is about ten times harder. It's not even organically produced. Yeah, the speaking-Cybertronian thing bugs the hell out of me too.

And that's not even mentioning the translations. Those would be rough as hell.

Just once, I'd like a fic where a human invents a machine or a musical instrument that could produce comparable sounds, and they use it to speak a pidgin-Cybertronian.

Then again Cybertronians writing in glyphs instead of barcode or those little databoxes also annoys me. XD But sadly it's canon.

Working on that in a fic myself. ;) Makes infinitely more sense, no?

Awesome. :D

I'd imagine that it would still be a very limited form of the language, since in my personal canon, it has a non-verbal wirelessly transmitted component as well. Like a human trying to communicate with a honeybee through dance while not being able to replicate or detect pheromones.
