Transformers Prime is due to hit The Hub channel this year's fall and today's panel revealed a lot of things: BTW Mods...should I tag G1 in continuity or do we need a WfC tag?
-The storyline takes place after the events of War for Cybertron, so it does become part of the G1/WFC continuity somewhat.
-However, something has happened between the end of War for Cybertron and the beginning of Transformers Prime. That 'something' can be anything, apparently leaving room to include the events of the Michael Bay films in between, this is left to the viewer's interpretation.
- Move listed above is done with the intention of catering to G1 fans as well as those that came into the franchise and fandom through the films.
- The design aesthetics are a mixture between Tranformers Animated with Bay's films characteristics.
- The show is rendered in CGI animation.
- Known characters that will be part of the initial character roster:
-For the Autobots Bumblebee based around the Camaro Bumblebee and Bayverse design, Arcee not pink but Blue and Silver with splashes of pale pink. Cliffjumper 70s-80s like muscle car, not a recolor of Bumblebee, his head actually holds a greater resemblance to TFA Bumblebee, Ratchet an EMS vehicle, most definitely a mixture between his War for Cybertron design with some of TFA Ratchet, and Optimus Prime, mostly based around his Bayverse design, still a Peterbilt style truck.
-For the Decepticons: We were only shown the generic drone/grunt Decepticon. Sports car. And Megatron seems to be a mixture between TFA, Bayverse and War for Cybertron designs. He's a Cybertronian jet.
- Three human teens' designs were shown. The female character somewhat resembles a teenager Sari. These might or might not end up being equivalent to Spike/Sam, Carly and Chip or the Armada/Micron Legend kids.
- Peter Cullen and Frank Welker are back to reprise their roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron in a cartoon for the first time since 1986.
