Pobody's Nerfect... and so I offer a challenge for 2008.
My challenge to you all, in the upcoming year: Write a fic, long enough for proper characterization (read: your idea of proper), where the OC is somehow physically imperfect. Anything from obvious scarring or simply being fat, to blind (I know this one was done and done well, but I don't remember the title), deaf, or mute, to having parts of their body either disfigured or missing entirely due to either outside force or simple accident of birth. They could even just be ugly.
Bonus points if you make them a sympathetic, contributing character rather than simply a pity-sponge (if G1 could do this in the 80's with Chip, I'm sure you can do it in the 00's). Extra bonus points if they're a romantic interest! (Who says the 'Bots have 21st-century, white American views of what's beautiful?)
