Heeeeee! Lots of sexy funtiems! Borealis itself is almost 300K words posted of schmoop... Liberally salted with angst, but mostly schmoop. \o/

Drift! Yes, and Drift actually merges with Prowl before they leave - Afterburner is their kid. Okay. The thing with Drift is...he was basically rebuilt and reprogrammed from the ground up as an Autobot. His conversion was by definition non-con, but it was very, very thorough. TC and Strake have not gone through quite that level of reprogramming/reformatting. They're still...man, how to put this...waves hands around... They're still kinda traveling on the continuum from Decepticon to Autobot, for what that's worth at that late stage in the war. And maybe Prowl has an idea of how they're going to react to the idea of the merge process. (Ain't gonna be pretty. Well, all right, it's basically the same as Ironhide's, only with more overt gagging and retching and carrying on like preteen boys.)

Without really planning it consciously, the defectors really are being treated on a case-by-case basis. They are very much individuals. TC and Strake are high-strung alpha Seekers, Drift isn't. And the Structies are not defectors per se. They're neutral on paper but helping with the space bridge project because that's of benefit to all Cybertron/ians.

Heeee! Humans freak some of them out, yes. Prowl in particular had trouble with them at first. XD I imagine some of the mechs don't see as much of a resemblance, though. And humans might all look the same, since they're not as diverse in coloration or frame type as Cybertronians. ;D

Burning Man seriously seems like one of those things it would be interesting to do before one died! We saw a bunch of people on the road coming home from that on our vacation this summer. Lots of kitted out dune buggies and bicycles covered in neon "fur"... XD Fun!
