Chicago-area electronics and hazardous materials recycling.
Took a bunch of defunct household electronics down to Chicago's Goose Island recycling center today. I was half expecting it to be a bit of a PITA, but it turns out to be a nice facility with nice staff, who gladly wheeled a cart out to my car and unloaded it for me.
For those interested, the facility is open on Tuesday mornings, Thursday afternoons (until 7pm, I think), and the first Saturday of each month. It's located on North Branch just south of Division, on the west side of the street. Easy to get to from the expressway, and much more convenient for city and near suburb dwellers than the other year-round facility out in (I believe) Naperville. You can call 311 for more details.
