June 22 Presentation on the Innocence Project with Susan M. Thurston Myster, a forensic scientist at Hamline University. The Innocence Project provides assistance to inmates with provable claims that they are innocent of the crimes they are imprisoned for. FILM After Innocence - A look at what happens to prisoners who are set free after being wrongly convicted and imprisoned.
June 29 Open Mic Night: Bring your poetry, short stories, music, etc. to share.
July 6 Coloring book-making workshop with Jacinta Bunnell, co-creator of Girls Will Be Boys Will Be Girls Will Be... and Girls Are Not Chicks coloring books! Workshop starts at 7 pm at Arise!, followed by music at the Bryant Lake Bowl.
July 13 The Dating Show will pair up a lonely person with one of three eager contestants for a summertime love affair! FILM Sid & Nancy - Classic tragic punk love story of Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious and his junky girlfriend Nancy Spungen.
July 20 The anniversary of the 1934 trucker strike. A night of Minneapolis labor history plus a labor song sing-along with Andy Gifford. FILM Labors Turning Point - Documentary on the dramatic 1934 Teamsters strike.
July 27 Space Cowboy night! Live music TBA. FILM The American Astronaut - The band The Billy Nayer Show stars in this surreal space-Western musical.
August 3 Stenciling & Screenprinting workshop. Learn something; teach something; make something. FILM Style Wars - The 1983 documentary about how NYCs landscape was being transformed by graffiti artists.
August 10 Religious Revival Night. Celebrate the rise of the Right. FILM Hell House - A documentary about a Texas church using a Hollywood-style haunted house to scare teens into Christian life.
August 17 Tramp night: Bring a vegetable to add to the pot for Mulligan Stew. FILM Long Gone - Documentary that follows six train-hoppers over the course of seven years with a soundtrack by Tom Waits.
August 24 Vegan potluck - bring food to share. Live music TBA. FILM The Cook, The Thief, Her Lover and His Wife - Food, sex, murder, and cannibalism are the exotic fare in this beautifully filmed but brutally uncompromising modern fable.
