Reason: The colors are overpowering on the bottom half, it's as if they couldn't decide whether to do a dark or light icon. It ruins what could've been a beautiful icon.
Its way too busy. The textures overpower the icon so you can't really focus on the subject. The text is in an awkward position.
The texture/pattern around her throat does not have an apparent purpose and distracts from the image. The orange is oversaturated towards the bottom.
I do like this icon in terms of crop, colouring, and the text, but the image seems almost.. grainy? and the texture right at her chin is very badly placed and is quite distracting.
Too red, kinda pixely, odd use of brushes. The pixely boxes are awkward.
Reason: This was obviously made using one of almateria's tuts, but the lavendar and green clash horribly. Bad texture placement, and the cropping/quality could be better.
To be honest I think the icon is messy. The caption would have been so nice if the iconist just let it be with a bit of better colouring and a matching boarder but with the text brush/texture (I think overlayed?) and the texture (I don't know now if it was a given texture but if it was that was a bad choice and even more to "pixel" it) which goes through the half of her face. And the red colour/brush thing which looks like lava really doesn't make the icon prettier. Next time I want the iconist to use less effects for more beauty.
the cropping is nice,but the texture is too hard on the image,it over powers it.maybe if you bring it down a little it will help :)
The squares on her chin are really oddly placed. It screws with the balance of the icon.
The coloring done on the picture is a really unattractive job. The purple squares are distracting and it's just way too orange in that one corner.
haha, oh my, I thought it would only be "overpowering texture" comments^^" just to clarify: I didn't use anyone's tuts or brushes, only the 3 textures we were given + one of my own (which included the text, the pixel boxes under her chin and the slightly grainy effect which everyone complains about XD) thanks anyway :)
