Yo, Soy

I've got a lunch meeting today at a chain restaurant, chosen primarily for it's quasi-central location more than anything else. I haven't eaten there in years, so I thought I would check the menu and nutrition info online. I'm not so much trying to follow a strict diet as be aware of what I am eating.

1. Not a single vegetarian entree, let alone vegan. Leaving meat and cheese off the salads would mean no protein.
2. OMG calorie count!
3. Ten points out of ten for providing allergen information on soy, gluten, milk, eggs, nuts, seafood, and MSG. However
  a. Why does a plain baked potato have soy?
  b. Why does asparagus have soy?
  c. Why does a burger have ALL of the allergens...nuts? Seafood?

Only two items on the menu are entirely free of allergens...and both of them are vinaigrette salad dressings. I can only assume that lunch is at the House of Cross-contamination.

As I said to my colleague, I think I'll have...water.

She said it probably has allergens too.

She's probably right...soy, if the rest of the menu is anything to go by.
